Ok, so I got my truck looking sharp, now I need some performance upgrades to enhance my mpg and hp. I know about throttle body spacers, air intakes, and headers, but I'm not really sure what else I could do to help. Anyone got any suggestions????? I have a 93' Toyota pickup with a 3.0 v6.

An intake alone wont do much if anything and a throttle body spacer is crap. I'm not entirely sure what is out there for the 3.0.

    New headgasket maybe. LOL

Sorry OP. I say just drive your truck around and maybe get an exhaust but that's is all I would do unless you have cash to swap something else in.

    HG FTW!!!!

About the only thing out there is CAI, but like Whippersnapper said it ain't going to do much. I think there is an aluminum flywheel out there though.

Thanks guys, what exactly would a headgasket do for me? And what is an aluminum flywheel? And what would it do?

From what I know about the 3.0 it likes to blow head gaskets.

Do you have your Chevy dynoed before and after the throttle body spacer? A butt dyno is not accurate in measuring horsepower. Tire spin is also not an accurate measure of horsepower. The reason I say they suck is because they simply do. They work on carbed engines because it helps mix the fuel and air coming from the carb but they don't work on multi point FI engines because the fuel is injected right above the intake valve.

I'm not sure if my truck has a computer on it, but would a chip help any?

Yes your truck has a computer and there is probably nothing for it. You bought the wrong truck for tire spinning power. Drive it to get you around and buy something fast on the side to mess with.

LOL. Well save money for headgaskets because it sound like you might be going through a bunch.

haha, ill take your advice. I found some headers on autoanything.com for my truck, but its only about sixty dollars, and thats for one, but the brand is bosal? Is that more or less a factory header or will it help any? Because i have priced some doug thorley ones and it was more along the lines of six hundred dollars. Do you know anything about the brand bosal?

Bosal makes both OE and performance parts. At $60 I'd say it's just an OE replacement

Yeah, sadly thats what i figured. An old man told me that a free flow cat would help me get up to 3+ mpg if i got it installed. Does anyone know about a free flow cat?

    Easy performance upgrade:

That will get better MPG than your truck and will put out more power than your truck ever could.

Yeah it lightened your wallet that was the difference. Less weight in the truck to spin the tires more. It's ok man. I used to be like you then I learned how an engine worked.

Nope. I wish though. I love GTOs. My buddy has a 06 auto. Ran 12.5 at 108 in the quarter with exhaust, catless mid pipe, torque converter, tune and shorty headers. Now it has a cam and 100 shot of nitrous. No track runs with the setup though but it pulls 22mpg on the highway with no problem.
