I experienced the same problems when I had a cracked spark plug in my 3.4. Dealership replaced my plugs and when going up any sort of incline the truck would stall and skip. Idling or just going down the the road you couldn't tell there was an issue. The check engine light never came on.
Took it back to the dealership and they had over tightened and cracked one of the plugs.
Good Luck and hope you find the problem

4 cylinder. 1 coil. Have you looked at distributer cap and rotor?

Yeah maybe I should not rely on the computer giving me the correct code and check the ignition instead. Next week I'll look at it with someone else.

And the coil is hidden inside the block on the front?

Just codes. And I'm not getting any, ever since I fixed the vacuum leak.

This. I had a P0171 for awhile back when I first got my truck, the shop replaced the MAF, O2 and air/fuel sensors as well as my spark plugs and wires and still couldn't get it to go away. Finally we traced it to a vacuum leak on the TRD supercharger, the tech that found it told me that with a P0171 it's almost always a vacuum or exhaust leak somewhere.

Yes I found a leak on both the intake and the exhaust and I fixed those. I'm no longer getting any code, yet I still have problems. Anytime I need power, uphill or when accelerating quickly, the engine stutters and almost stalls.

Was it doing that back when you had the code/before you fixed the leaks? Or is this a new issue that started right after?

I was going to say it sounds like a fuel delivery issue but it sounds like you've tested it all already...have you tried checking it for codes even though the check engine light isn't on? Codes sometimes get stored without showing up as a CEL. Seems like an issue like that would throw some kind of code.

I have this problem ever since I got the car 2 years ago. It used to occur only after a very long drive, more than 3 hours. Now I have it all the time. I checked and replaced almost anything I could think of.

hmmm weird. You've replaced the spark plugs/wires? How many miles are on them?

Ok, here is what you do.
Check the spark on the plugs. Pull one plug, leave it connected to the wire, place the plug on a metal surface ON THE ENGINE and have someone turn the engine over. Look for a distinctive blue spark. If the spark is blue and strong, reinstall spark plug and move to the next. This will eliminate the spark issue.

Temperature related. If possible test ignition coil when hot or replace with known good one. Distributor rotor looks suspect. I would replace rotor and cap regardless.
