I had an '86 Jimmy blazer with those tough looking 3-piece rims; the colorcoded rim, a polished aluminum outer ring, and a chrome center cap. That rim was deep too, adding that "fat" look to the whole assembly. I dream of having a set on my Tacoma with the black rims offset by the beauty pieces-but I dont think it's possible.

    definitely a personal choice...

i prefer steel black wheels as i havent washed my truck in a couple years... i offroad at least once a month so figured why look purty?

so for me, its less of a cosmetic thing...

but like FoxySandChick, i got all black trim on my rig...

    :D

I like all black, especially on a white truck that's been dechromed. The only problem is sometimes you can't see the detail of the wheel.

I went with the KMC 795 Hoss rims. The chrome bolts break up the all black.

As for chrome, I had enough of it in my youth on my motorcycles. It looks nice when it's cleaned up but it takes too long to clean it and get it shining. Black hides the crud well so it looks better longer.

Bottom line, if you're cleaning it, you're not driving it! :D

I'm old school I guess.......My bike has lots of chrome.......and my truck...well if it didn't have the chrome grill & rear bumper I might do different......but definitely will get chrome rims later! :D

The black looks REALLY good on a few trucks on here but for the most part.....not my cup o tea. BUt hey......my wife says I'm stuck in the 70's anyway so what do I know :p

My truck is all black, color-coded. My steps are the black and alluminum tho (a gift, not a choice, so the original all-black idea went out the window) therefore I've been looking at black and polished wheels, but I still like the all-black too. The argument about staying cleaner-looking has me leaning back that way! LOL! I hate acrubbing wheels! :D

I'm not into blacking everything out. Not my style.

I personally have not seen a set of wheels out there that I like more than my stock TRD Off Road alloys, minus the TT FJ wheels. Because of that I won't ever spend money on new ones. I may one day pick up some steelies to mount some M/Ts to and use those for wheeling. If I ever get sick of my stock wheels I'll paint 'em black.

I definitely prefer the anthracite "charcoal gray" baja or FJ wheel over anything, if I could have found a set for sale I wouldn't have got the black TT FJ rims. That being said, I think the style of the wheel is more important than the color. I don't think that chrome generally looks all that rugged. I don't always like black. It's all about the look of your truck coming together. Much respect for anyone who has the gumption to turn their Tacoma into a unique work of art.

    His first post had had
I think it's lame that he started a thread just to say he didn't like something...but he'es sure entitled to his opinion. I also looked at his post as kind of a question- so I answered it.

Your post was uselss- nothing worth saying...plus it WAS the kinda post looking for drama.

    So laugh it up...

I'm not going to black-out my wheels, but I'm thinking about blacking out my chrome tube-steps using a Line-X type material. I don't have a problem w/ those who black-out at all... it's just not me.

^^ all that and it just looks sick! Chrome is lame, steelies are cheap for the many of us on budgets. Black ftw

Black is being over done. I see soooo many vehicles around with black rims. Really see it around here on SUVs. Not my thing but to each their own.
