    O.K. just a silly thread, but what really annoys you during the "Christmas Season"? Anything, no matter how goofy or silly is fine.

    One of mine is singers who CONSTANTLY Mispronounce the name of one of Santa's Reindeer in their version of "Rudolf, the Red Nosed Reindeer".
    It's Not DONNER, it's DONDER, German for thunder, to go along with Blitzen, which is Lightning.

    (Is that WAY over the top OCD, or what???)

    Had no clue on this to be honest. Had to google it and found this:

    Both phrases translate as "Thunder and Lightning" in English, though German for "thunder" is now spelled Donner, and the Dutch words would now be spelled Donder and Bliksem.

    My pet peeve is so many are self-centered. They're about the gimme, gimme, gimme. And, me, me, me. The fighting in the stores. They're forgetting what Christmas is all about.

    I guess if you want to get real technical, it is Dunder. And then don't forget about Blixem either. I think those are the spellings from the original story :boink:

    Any other spelling is just because language and translations change over time.

    I would also like to point out, that according to https://santas.com/pages/santas-reindeer-names, Donner and Blitzen are the correct names for the song, even if they aren't the original reindeer names. It looks like the song was written with those versions of the names. I had to look it up to see if I had the original names spelled correct and saw the note about the current names

    Had a bell ringer actually give me a guilt trip yesterday. She stood in front of the doors as I was trying to walk out with my groceries, and gave me the weirdest, most passive agressive "hey. merry christmas" I had ever gotten.

    Cool, merry christmas to you too, but you still aren't getting my dollar.
