honestly, nothing is wrong. its a brand new truck. i want the new y pipe but people seem to have been having problems with fitment on the new ones so i was thinking if i can get someones y pipe they arent using i could just replace the cats with straight tubing from midas and just use those at a fraction of the cost....was my thinking process. im sure ill get better sound and little more power from it. not something i NEED but something i can wait on.

i dont think 14 yr will be same fit as 17. could be wrong but i dont want to take any chances.

yoo I have a stock Y pipe! I also have a URD non-spec U Y pipe as well if you want to skip the fabrication I could just give you a good price on that piece? I recently got the Spec U

Its the original Y pipe that URD made before the Spec U. The spec U Y pipe has equal length header sections for better flow and more low end power, while the original URD Y pipe just has the cats removed and is basically a regular old pipe other than that.

Fitment is the same at the flanges as stock, and fitment between the truck and the ground is much improved. The spec U is tucked VERY high under the frame, while the regular URD y pipe is better than stock ground clearance but not as good

so the non spec u you tried it on your truck and there was no rubbing or issues with fitment what so ever? i thought they had some fitment issues hence why they revised it to mark 2.

Nope! No fitment issues per se... It was definitely a tough install because when the pipe is in certain positions under the truck it doesn't fit very well, but once installed it clears everything just fine. The spec U is an entirely different setup, it comes with a y pipe and the spec u muffler section, and has a v band clamp connection instead of flanges. It also is tuned to the 3.5 litre motor specifically and has equal length headers as I mentioned before. They are two separate products but I had the y pipe and a turn down muffler before I bought the spec u full exhaust system. Noticably more power and better sound with the spec u full exhaust versus aftermarket as well.
