Thanks for all of the pics. It's good to know I can go up in tire size without necessarily getting a lift.

I guess only those with pretty aggressive tread had rubbing issues.

    Thanks again!

How do those duratracs ride? I was just going to go with some BFG AT's although I really like the way the duratracs looks. Thinking of getting some black XD Addicts myself. I keep seeing you post that pic up in various threads and I like the tires more and more everytime haha.

The more I see the more convinced I am that this is the right size to go to. I know every seems to recommend 33s, but I just get the feeling this would be easier on the driveline, easier on fuel economy, and easier on rubbing. Also, looks very nice.

you and i were probably researching the same threads cause i posted in all the ones i had been looking at before getting the tires. i've only driven about 10 miles with the new tires but so far they are not much if any different than the stock sport tires. its not overly noticeable anyways.

i was torn between getting the 265 or 285 and i finally decided on the 265 because they are cheaper, softer, 15lbs lighter, don't throw off the speedo/odometer as much, don't require any trimming, and on an aftermarket 8" wide 0 offset wheel they look almost as beefy as the 285, especially in person.

thanks for the compliments, i'm very happy with these tires and i think you won't go wrong with the duratracs or the bfg at's, that was my other choice.

+1, I just got my wheels (went to 17's) and the dura tracs should be here fri. I went with 265/70/ 17 same as 265/75/16. Going to lift 2" to 2 1/2" thats it, should be able to handle any thing I am wanting to do. I am not going to be putting my truck in any situation to cause body damage.

i ran the 265/75/16 duratracs for a few months and recently moved up a few inches :D but here are some pics before then. i still have the 265/75's for now considering that they have less than 10k miles on them and they really look fine to me. of course if i had more money i would get the 285's, but i think until these run out, i will get some wheels with less backspacing so they will stick out a little farther and look a little meaner, lol.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
Not sure about everyone else, but if you do go up from the stock 245/75 R16, be ready for about a 4-5 MPG drop.

Anyone have anythoughts, did this happen with yours too?

its not the larger tire specifically that kills your mpg, it is the fact that most larger tires are heavier and therefore require more energy to rotate. when i upgraded the size of my tire i also did the wheels at the same time. so while the larger tires weigh 10lbs more than my stock tires, my new wheels weigh about 8lbs less than my stock wheels. therefore i've only added about 2lbs of unsprung weight which would have negligible effects on mpg or power loss.

if you stay with your stock wheels and add larger, heavier tires you are basically adding 10-20lbs per wheel that needs to be rotated. depending on what brand and design you go with it may even be more weight than that. the extra weight is what steals your engine's power and drops your MPG.

i've never understood why not many people are ever concerned about wheel and tire weights as much as they should be when purchasing new ones.

I'm on the 17 " rims because my truck is a Sport , but my 265/70/17 are the same size as 265/75/16.

    I'm on stock suspension .

Can't remember if I had rubbing issues with the mudflaps or not... I think they fell off before I got these tires.

265/75/16 Duratracs. Only rubbing was on the front mud flaps at almost full turn. No rubbing since removing them.
