    Went bow huting this last weekend with a few friends. Did not see much but got some feeders fixed that the coons tore up and some other odds and ends. The highlight of the trip was when my buddy got this huge boar with his bow. We estimate it to weigh 200-225 pounds. As you can see he has some pretty nice cutters. We were hunting in Eastland County about 80 miles west of Fort Worth.

    I saw this ting on TV a few nights ago. It was talking about how wild hogs are taking over a lot of the South/ Southeast. How aggressive are those things? Do they generally run away?

    They can get to be very agressive and can cause seriouse damage if they get a hold of you. A friend of mine had one of his dogs killed by a large bore a few years back, and I've had to take cover from the top of a tree before.

    Any of you TX boys experienced hunting these things? I'm heading out to visit my parents over Turkey week, they're in the DFW area. My dad is trying to arrange a pig hunt for me on a ranch owned by family friends. Anyway, I don't know what to bring. My rifle collection is small (what with my age and paying for my Taco :eek:).

    I've got an AR and a Rem 700, but both are .223 and I wasn't sure how well suited .223 is for boar/feral pig. I've also got an old Winchester '94 in .44 Mag. I know that would work, but wasn't sure what type of distances I may encounter on a pig hunt? Unfortunately I don't think I'll have the parts/funds to complete my AR-10 in time for the trip.
