Yeah, that's why I put them in the list. Nobody thinks of a poodle as being vicious.

I don't think pit bulls should be banned...I think some people should be banned from owning pit bulls. They are great dogs but can act out and defend themselves if treated poorly.

Some of you compare it to other breeds that will act in self defense. The difference is that the pit bulls have a much stronger will to fight and defend. They have much more powerfull jaws than labs and are less likely to back down if provoked.

German shepherds aren't much different and, all the same, certain people should not own GS's.

Good to see we have responsible PB owners on here and they are great looking dogs!

Their jaws usually are the last thing to "fill out".

I work in the pet industry and have for many years. I just lost my pit to cancer. he was the best. I also have 2 dobies cuz we rescued another since my beloved chucky passed. With any dog comes responsibility. Most owners of these types of breeds are aware and take the nessicary precautions. My dogs have manners but they dont take shit from dogs that dont. its not their fault they are at the top of the food chain. I have seen some real viscious labs even goldens. bad breeding has taken a toll on bloodlines of the common pet. Yorkies think they way 200#s A small dog will bite the shit out of you quicker than a big dog. Most dogs bite out of fear not rage. People that fight dogs should be put to sleep. I cant wait to get another pit when the time is right. I am just still to broken hearted to get one just yet. here are some pics of my vicsious killer. (he was a lover not a fighter)

My sisters Rat Terrier (like a jack russell) attacked me and would have gotten to my face if it wasn't small enough for me to hold back. It has also bitten my sister a few times and could not be let into a dog park or it would attack every dog in there including big ones. It has bitten strangers in the hands, arms and legs. This was all when the dog was a puppy and it never grew out of it due to lack of proper training, but in my opinion that dog was the most hazardous to be around than my 80lb mutt who hasn't even snapped at anyone in 9 years. He didn't even bite back when a dog attacked him at the park and he got bit.
Its all about the proper training and education, any animal can attack just like any human can attack. There are more people dying at the hands of other people than from dog attacks, so lets start banning people :goingcrazy:.
    Good article.... :pccoffee:

My mom decided she was going to paint our pits nails a couple weeks ago. He just sat there like it was a regular thing. He only licked it once, didnt like the taste. Does anyone elses pit eat everything in sight? Our dog will literally eat anything. He thinks ice cubes are treats.

Pits are on my short list of dogs I might want to own whenever I have my own place and enough time for one.

My brother has a Newfie, and he is trying to train it to lick whenever he says "attack"

I'd definately do that with a Pit!
