I had the similiar mud stains on mine as well. Did well with the salt, but not the mud.

Which is weird in my case because I covered it in mud and was able to wash it off fine. I think letting the mud bake in the sun for weeks was the problem. Or the dirt was special.. it was Alabama mud that messed it up vs Tennessee mud which didn't.. the jury is out!

Curious, how long did you "cure" it before driving around brush, or before washing it?

I think I waited about a week or so. But I think it was fully cured in about 24 hours

I take it you used a spray gun? My 08’s paint is getting horrible on the roof, hood, and flares. Thinking about going this route but I don’t have a garage to do it I’m so thinking of just doing it in sections. I don’t have a sprayer but I do have the piece that attaches to the cans to make for easier and more even spraying.

Didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the thread....WD40 removes dip. Spray on, let it sit for a minute, wipes right off.

And to get a smoother dip finish, heat your dip in warm water before applying. It will dry with less "texture" if that's what you are looking for.

Yes I used a spray gun. No idea if rattle can attachment will work. If it doesn't you could always just spray over it with a spray gun.

Dipped my rear bumper and grill but don't think I'd be brave enough to do my whole truck

No shit it looks this good still after 3 years?? PlastiDip? Man that's awesome. I'd never have expected it to last that long with street use let alone throwing some trails into the mix. Awesome color you picked too

Scraped a tree on the last wheeling trip.

Should be easy enough to touch up.

My buddy rhinolined his truck and saw a 5% increase in fuel economy because of the texture. Mythbusters did an episode on this.

Looks good! I would have suggested removing the flares though, the weather stripping between the flares and the body will move around a little and it will make the dip pull up some. I tried to exacto it off, but it was pain. I ended up removing, touching it up and spraying the flares black, then reinstalling. That's the only part that really gave me issues, other than the door handle area.

What are your thoughts on the DYC sprayer?

It's okay. In hind sight I would buy a better sprayer and test the nozzles.

Did you have any paint experience before that?
