Ah! That makes wayyy more sense, haha. Thank you!

Going for it this weekend. I'll be back here with more dumb questions, I'm sure.

One more question... Did you do anything to cover up the valve stem? Or did you paint right onto it?

Good question. Sprayed right over with caps on. Looks great. Just twisted the cap before it dried to separate the derp.

So far, so derp! Just finished coat #3, and I'm really wondering why I decided to do this on a 110 degree AZ day.

How many coats until it's optimal? I've used nearly 3 cans so far, one left. I'm planning on just using it all up, but is there a "too much" limit?

Lookin good! I'd say as long as you keep around one can per wheel. evenly spread, you can't go wrong!

    Groovy.

Have you/a shop ever changed tires with the wheels derped? Does it come out okay? I'm planning on getting new tires this year, so I hope I'm not doin' this for nothin'!

I've encountered a bit of a dust problem on one of the wheels (or is that chunky spray?)

Is there a way to remedy this?

Chunky Spray. Wipe off. Clean sprayer nozzle/opening using mineral spirits or paint thinner. Shake can well. Continue. Even the chunky stuff dries relatively flat when a fan is used.

I had no tires on mine when I derped the wheels. Added them after, no scratches from the tire machine, but I only had them balance with tape weights and regular wheel weights on the inside lip. Easy to touch up, blends well if you needed to

I praciced plasti dipping recently bc I want to do my rims but the plasti dip came out rough to touch. Is that my uneven spraying or just its finish? I was using the matte black

After each spray session I put a fan directly on it to promote drying and also leaves a smooth final finish.

Did you do it in direct sun and/or was it really hot? Did you hold the can closer to the rim than you would a regular spray paint can?

Watch a video from Dipyourcar.com, spray in the shade on a day that isnt too hot.
