So I've been looking for trail armor and more specifically a rear bumper. Most the places I've seen say they're bumper doesn't work with the factory towing hitch.

Is there a thread or anyone have suggestions/pictures of rear plate bumpers that work with the factory trailer hitch.

Its going to be hard to find an aftermarket bumper that works with the factory hitch because almost all those bumpers use the hitch mounting points for the bumper to ensure solid attachment.

Why not get one that has a tow hitch built in?

I am considering it, just don't know how I feel about not having a factory hitch to tow, and watch Toyota blame that for issues

But honestly I don't tow enough. So I'm considering it

I'll be getting fab fours in a couple months. Price is good, free shipping I believe, and comes powder coated.

I have no need for high clearance and paid for the tow package that I use often, so no need for anything extra.

Basically I just want a black steel bumper that fits like oem, fab fours fits the bill perfectly

That, and a lot of aftermarket bumpers increase the angle for off-roading ... and the tow hitch sits 6 inches below the bumper.

The problem with FF's rear bumper is that it doesn't utilize the extra set of mounts points you get when you lose the hitch. That thing weighs 115lbs which is like four times the amount of a stock bumper, hanging off mount points that were rated for the factory bumper. Fuck that shit. Oh and HC FTW :luvya:

Here is mine. The factory hitch is raised and incorporated in my new bumper. Departure angle is raised, license plate holder slides into receiver. I might change that to hinged license plate some time later.
You are only two hours away from Avid where it was fab bed up from an idea that I had and Brandon and Tanner put into steel.
