    I always use "Monster cables" And yes, I think the sattalite might be limited to 720p-1080i.
    I personally cant tell the difference between 10801 and 1080p but I dont watch alot of television or blue ray.

    i think the max our satellite receiver is set at is 1080i anyway, so new better cables should be fine. i would think anyway.

    i have for a bit, but i think the more i do it...the more it will wear out where it connects to on the tv. i could be wrong....but dont wanna chance it.

    Thanks for the info. Does anyone make hd component cables? If so.....ill get a set to replace the old ones I'm currently using. Some new ones would have to be better than what I'm using now for my satellite receiver.

    Sorry for all the questions.....but I'm trying to make it where I ain't gotta mess with this shit again.:cool:

    Component cables are capable of carrying up to 1080p , which is full hd , there is not two types ie standard def and high def component cables

    How many cables do you have hooked up for your component connection?

    Right now...all I have is red...yellow..white.....and a red and white. I guess the last 2 are for audio. I guess these aren't exactly correct...so I know I have to get the right ones. I guess what I have now is composite?? When I get the right ones.....picture should get better...right?

    you need the red/green/blue video component cables.and get a digital optical for the audio. those will carry HD just fine. HDMI is just for convenience. no need to overspend on cables. they arent worth the money for most applications.

    Does the tv picture seem fuzzy or just not fill the screen ?

    ie is the satellite receiver sending an hd sized image to the tv ?

    Yeah....seems fuzzy. I'll get the right cables hopefully tomorrow and see what happens. We used these cause its all I had here. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post here....then you can see exactly what I got where. I'm pretty sure the right cables will make a difference.

    I don't think so......its still set at 1080i. I just think the cables I'm using are composite instead of component........due to color code of plug ends.
