Ok here’s my problem I live in eastern NC and where I live I’m very limited to any internet connections. I was on century link for years but I’m on an “exhausted line” no planned upgrades, they are actually planning on cutting the service once everyone disconnects. They also will not fix the service. I was begging for 3mbps and I still am. Went with Hughes Net for two years that was a nightmare! I’m now using US Cellular with a weak signal, I have a D-link cellular router. I have 5 towers surrounding me, but they are all at least 6miles away. I installed a weboost home room kit that helps dramatically, but I’ve just stumbled across something today that has me pulling my hair out.
Under the emitter of the weboost I can complete a Speedtest averaging probably 2mbps during peak hours, but goes up into the 20mbps range late at night or early morning hours. I’m in peak hours now and walked into my yard and did a speed test. It was less than 2mbps, I walked LITERALLY 50ft over to my neighbors yard and did a speed test at 30mbps. I’ve walked around and around doing speed tests like a jackass and for some reason their front yard is hot! All these speed tests in the yard are not amplified by the weboost. What can I do to figure out what in the world is going on, and why can’t I get that signal from my freaking house?!?! Any information/help would be awesome.
    Thanks

Cell antennas are directional, once you’re a few miles from the source a tree or any obstruction can turn a weak but usable signal into an unusable one.

Is there any way to route your antenna onto the roof of your house? The extra elevation will get you more dB of signal strength.

I saw a service provider years ago. I think it was Nomad.

My antenna is already on the roof and the problem is which tower to point it to. According to my router the signal strength is -78db. I’ve turned the antenna more times than I can count, and it’s in the strongest db signal that I can get it to. I tuned it looking at the db the router was receiving.

Yeah, no kidding! I would be thrilled to get 30 mbps in my house, and knowing that signal is less than a stone throw away from my house is just enough to drive me insane!

I am hearing recommendations on the Starlink on post #4. I think that this will be able to solve your connectivity problems.

It’s the only way to go with for satellite internet.

I was just reading about it on their website. I’m very close to placing an order!

What really sucks is I’ve got almost as much money in this cellular booster kit as the starlink system costs.
