    Are programmers like Unichip worth it for those of us who own 2nd Gens and don't want to fool with getting the ECU fine-tuned by a specialist? I understand they're not a full spectrum tune with customized personal settings, but do they help in dialing in CAIs and other parameters?

    My opinion is No.
    Not for the price. You’d be better off spending about $150 more and having a full custom tune.
    Plus you don’t soldier and cut anything.

    There is a member here JustDSM that can send you a custom tune. At a very reasonable price.
    I haven’t heard anything bad about his work.

    Looks like a Gen2.5 TRD Sport, but really an '08 TRD OffRoad
    TRD Supercharged / OTT Tuned
    @JustDSM has a few options that might fit your needs using HP Tuner.

    Other options like unichip, bullydog, any maf calibrator may actually cause your truck to run worse vs better.... especially if you have no efi tuning experience or knowledge of what the hardware is doing.
