    Hey, Folks.

A few of us at the November 3rd meetup realized that we are riders also.

Please post up here if folks would like to get out for some chill rides.

I'm street only for now, but a friend and I want to get some enduros to putter around on. If it makes sense, we can do a street and an offroad thread?

Pending better weather, I'd be down for some street rides.

Sweet machine! Nice weather only, just for enjoyment. I save the nasty stuff for what you might venture into on tour.

The tricolor mistress waiting for a commute maybe Wednesday or Thursday this week:

Its a blast. Not great for steep single track with stock gearing, and a tad on the heavy side, but still a lot fun in the dirt. The sumo setup however...I'm surprised I didn't get arrested this summer.

That far north is a hike for me, I'm down in PDX area. That shot however, is Jones Creek (North east of Vancouver WA) a couple weeks back, about a mile before the clutch started slipping.

They look like great fun. A lot are popping up all around here. I hear big thumpers coming by our house all the time.

My plan is to use it for random commutes, light exploring on camping trips, and getting in a bit further in than I want to shove the Taco.

My favorite riding is OR, SE WA, and western ID.

I used to ride in baja a bunch when I still lived in San Diego. Sold my 2 stroke before moving up here though.

Been kinda itching for a 4 stroke to hoon trails around here

Anyone here have experience making a two stroke street legal in WA?

I've done the South Dakota trick before but that's definitely hit or miss

That's funny, being I have a stock height taco, I use the 701 to scout trails too. I'm newer to off roading and its easier on the 701, and cheaper probably

I lived in Phoenix for a couple years and loved my YZ250 for desert riding. I've done a number of 4 strokes, and am actually thinking about the new Husky 300 injected 2 stroke. Not sure I'm ready to part with the 701, but those new 2 strokes look fun. Especially since there's some nut making new 500cc motors that bolt right into KTM and Husky frames. Seems like a great way to part with a lot of money and have a great time doing it.

Same here. I really don't want to lift. I'm wondering about going one size up on the sidewalls and maybe using airbags for the rare big obstacles.

I've been on the fence about it. At most, I'm thinking the 2" OME would get me what I need. I did go up to a 265/75-16. Those new BFG KM3's were calling out to me. But the 701 gets me into enough trouble, not sure I need a taco with another 6" of travel, just more opportunity to get into trouble. lol

I would however like to find some mud to try out my new tires...

You should be able to find the mud soon.

Although, I am stoked for some 2wheeled commutes looking at the near term forecast.

Probably going to sell my bike next summer. After riding on the track, riding on the street fucking sucks. With kids' activities I made it to exactly zero track days the last 2 years. That alone is enough to make anyone depressed. :(

It pains me to see my Ducati sitting in the garage, having not been ridden hard on the track for so long. A few miles on the street over that time, but when you look down at the speedo in "go directly to jail" speed territory, the thrill wears off.

Maybe if I had a different bike that wasn't a temperamental Italian bitch at anything below 4000 RPM or 80 MPH.....:anonymous:

You know the saying about slow bike / cars. It is sort of half the reason that I want a light thumper. There is that hooligan aspect though.

Yeah. More fun to ride/drive a slow car/bike fast than to ride/drive a fast car/bike slow. The problem is having the taste of riding a fast bike fast, then having to go 55 with it. I can't ride 55......
