    PNW_Tacoma build journey:

Since I purchased a dual cab long bed, I realize this isn't the ideal rock crawling platform, so my build inspiration is for camping/short overlanding trips in mind.

    As it currently sits:

Does running into things count as a mod?
With your tire/wheels, why did you go from 17” wheels to 16”?

Great question. Well, honestly, it’s because I wanted SCS Ray 10’s in dark bronze and 16” was all I could get. It was a tough decision because the methods and Grapplers were a great combo.

Thank you! I got about 2” all around. Really wanted more but the DCLB is heavy!

I hear that! I got a set of fox shocks for the rear. I am thinking a full Dakar set plus 2.5 coilovers. I am running 265/75r-6s I don’t want to go too high and make my tires look small...

Sweet setup. You’ll be fine with the tire size. I ran 265/70/17 for a short time and barely noticed a difference. Here’s a pic of that setup.

Nice build. I also have an MGM DCLB OR. I just took off a Toytec lift and put on the OME nitro chargers with 888 coils as well. Running 285/70/17’s on wheels off a TRD Sport, but hoping to get something new soon. Bookmarked your build - it’s fun to see another one being built!

Beautiful truck!Thats the color I wanted but none in my region that was a manual shift.

How do you like the Expedition Essentials electronics mount? Been looking for a way to mount a 12.9" iPad, seems like it would be a solid solution strand tunnel mounting.

Love this build! Been following you on IG and just found you on here. I'm @tarosharp. I also have a MGM DCLB Sport 4X4. I've been doing a bunch of small changes and additions to mine. Getting ready for lift and few other things soon. Of course I claimed "I'm not gonna mess with it", and now I have this huge list lol.
I was wondering how you're liking those 16" wheels? I am currently running stock 17" with 265/70 ko2s. Im going up to 285s with Gunmetal Ray10s(as soon as theyre instock) after my lift. I'm on the fence between 16" and 17". I dont do much off-roading so it's more about the looks for me. Here's the most current pic of mine. 20180115_163619.jpg

Hey thanks man! I’ve ran both 16” and 17” and it’s pretty much the same. I will say that 16” wheels allow for more rubber which is better for off-roading, while there are more tire choices for 17” wheels. Ultimately, it will come down to your preference.

Speaking of which, I have a brand new set of 16” Ray 10’s in matte dark bronze on KO2’s if you wanna do a road trip up here!!
