I had my Tacoma in the dealership for alignment warranty. my truck would pull right. They did a road force balance. And caster and camber were out of specs. Vehicle tracks straight now.

Changed vote from no to yes. Maybe I jinxed myself by putting no. So far actual failures or problems (since certain vibes aren't included) are the common needle bearing failure, assumed CSPS failure (truck shut off on highway), and now rear diff is leaking oil at 3rd member.

Truck puts me in a strange place mentally, lol. As a mechanic I tell myself that each issue that is corrected is not likely to return, which its not, but I do have doubts about the overall dependability. I've had more issues with this truck than any other vehicle I've owned and in a shorter time too. I have been on and off the fence on getting rid of it, it would be easier if I didn't still like the truck and wasn't so familiar with things breaking. I think my job has made me less sensitive to these kind of things.

No reliability issues, but very unhappy with the gas mileage and the gas gas pedal, the travel & amount of pressure has no relation with the engine response

I swear it learns your driving by making the pedal non reactive. I just had my computer reflashed to reset mu VSS, and the truck felt way more responsive. Dealer said that it will have to relearn my driving style. Pedal Commander here we come.

As far a reliability nothing major, but I have been at the dealer 5 times now to try and fix my windshield squirters. Dealer told me to open a case with Toyota Care. Not sure what is going on o_O

Yes, within 5K miles I had transmission issues (that the TSB did not fix), I had a Oil leak at the Cam tower, I lost D-R for a period of 15 min and the system had my truck stuck in 4-lo until the Dealership took the truck back, oh and Hood delamination.

I had them fix the water line chaffing issue at 5K service. Very happy with the truck.

Would you have rather it happen after the warranty was gone?

So far 23% reporting issues of some sort with over 10% reporting major issues. Wow

My facebook feed has at least a post a week of someone dealing with some sort of issue, not necessarily major, but a hassle none the less. Without trying to come across condescending, for the people that report no issues, have you looked under the truck?

I only ask because I've seen a rash of posts regarding various leaks recently and in most cases a lot of the leaks, like mine, are minor enough that you wouldn't see them without getting underneath the truck.

No issues for me, close to 10K miles. I enjoy the truck and pay little attention to constant bitching regarding the 3rd gen on this forum.

I just installed a Pedal Commander and it's much more responsive, but 4th gear still oscillates in and out of TC lockup, but it is quite peppy now.

I got it back today. The CSP sensor failed with only 16,000 miles on my truck.

After I had it towed to the dealer I mentioned they should check the sensor after reading about it here. The cps sensor was replaced with a new one. Nothing really changed and I don't see why it couldn't happen again after another 10,000 miles. They said they mail the broken sensor back to the factory and they keep a record and perform a root cause analysis on the part. I hope they do. These sensors used to be mechanical and never failed. Heck the sensor technology is old and has been around. Hopefully the engineers read Tacoma world and are proactively working on a TSB. Heck call it an upgrade I would pay to not have to worry about getting stuck. Overall I'm not impressed with my Tacoma since it was 2 quarts low from the factory and getting the dealer to check that (after 7000 miles) took a lot of effort. I'm still not sure what the long term effects will be on the transmission. The irony was I bought it for reliability after reading about Toyota lean manufacturing.
