i just wanted to toss out a poll for those who are experiencing the hood vibration (adhesive) issue to see if there is a correlation to plant of manufacture.

Is it possible that the trucks coming from one plant versus the other may contribute to why not everyone is having this issue?

It seems that the sport model is not susceptible to this issue. I ordered a TRD OR and I don't yet know the plant of manufacture. Just wanted to see if there is a trend.

What about if someone posted an email address where we could all email Toyota about the issue. I understand getting it to the dealer and all, but I wonder if that would help also. I'm reluctant to take mine in until the fix is concrete. I'm thinking if we all sent emails they might get off their ass about it. Now anyone know what their email is?

GM has a TSB on the same issue on one of the trucks, I can't remember. Makes me think it's a bad batch of the adhesive. Not a direct Toyota issue

Got our OR Tacoma last week. Asked dealership to check this before we picked it up. They said there was a recall on this issue two months ago. Contact your dealer for the fix if you're having that problem. Popped the hood on our Tacoma and there was a long line of adhesive instead of just spots. Braces solid and no vibration.

Given the responses, it appears to be non-location specific and supports the theory of a bad batch of adhesive.

Therefore, wouldn't the BUILD DATE now be used to determine the range of potentially affected vehicles?

Mine has been fine so far, 2k miles on truck and was built about 3rd week of November. No hood vibrations. Adhesive seems to be holding up fine. No "long line" of adhesive as mentioned above by Coloradogal however..which makes me wonder if there was really a recall why haven't the other dealers or other builds within 2 months have this addressed?

I ran my VIN into the Toyota CS website that searches for recalls... nothing came up. My hood does have some adhesive separation.

Is this the hood adhesive separation others are complaining about? Mine does vibrate a bit but not something I view as a major issue yet..

Is yours a sport? Mine doesn't have those braces that you're pulling on

It's still an issue because I know of folks who have had to take their truck in several times and they're still having issues getting the bond to not fail.

I believe the dealers are just Outsourcing it to Body Shop to have it fixed and then repainted under the hood. I don't think there is a Toyota wide TSB or recall for this particular issue just yet. I could be wrong.

Definitely not a recall...as it's not safety related.
