I have been reading your posts for a while now, and I have grown to respect what you write. However, on this topic, I respectfully disagree. I believe both issues will be resolved. And furthermore, I am sure that Tacoma World is playing a big role. I know for a fact that Tacoma World Played a role in Toyota developing the Rev 1 version of the transmission code.

What about claim pending with corporate or something to that effect? I have a rear diff issue like many but none of these really fit my situation enough to vote on it. Corporate is working with me but it is still not resolved.

No flawed components or issues found at this time

That's bad real bad, you've been ignored! What will you do now?? :/

I think, If I remember correctly, she was the classic reason for the safety recall issue as her diff was actually dripping with wet spots on driveway\garage, the kind you do sideline a vehicle for till repairs can be performed.

Agreed. Anything made by man and machine is subject to being flawed. Every manufacturer turns out their share of lemons. None of them are exempt. What matters is how the defective products are backed by the manufacturer when issues arise.

I may be wrong but I'm not sure there is an absolute fix for the rear diff issue. I would hope if there was we could just go in and get it fixed. It does no one any good (Toyota or the customer) to have an unresolved issue but sometimes companies make the business decision to allow something to go as is so long as it's not deemed dangerous and buy back the squeaky wheel cases.

GM has basically an unfixable issue with their vibration, droning from V4 to V6 transition, and cabin pressure issues. Some are affected more than others by the vibration and cabin pressure issues so GM tells everyone it is a normal characteristic of the vehicle and internally they hope that people will buy it. If they don't and push it then they try to resolve it. It took me seven or eight months of negotiations to get my last Yukon XL replaced with them. I hope Toyota doesn't take this approach with the rear diff but for what it's worth, when feathering on the throttle between 55-65 my 2016 Yukon XL has a slight howl coming from the rear diff. It is nowhere near as loud as my Tacoma but that could be because of additional sound deadening.

In the end, if Toyota doesn't have a fix out and it bothers the ones that have it bad enough, there is a processs to take care of those who don't want to wait it out. I love my truck but my rear diff is driving me crazy, but I'm not sure crazy enough to leave for a GM or Nissan. I'm currently working with corporate in hopes of getting this fixed. I also have not ruled out getting a private shop to drop another one in there (depending on the cost). In the end, like so many others, I just want it fixed. Best of luck to all.
