(i realized this would be a better place after the other post sry for doubling)

    Hey all,

First post here. I'm in the process of making a custom box for a JL12w6 (05 access cab), while the measurements are roughly within range 1-1.5 cubic feet, I was wondering if it is necessary to add dampening inside the box, like polyfill or something...

    Thx in advance.

No worries and I answered on the other thread before I saw this but here it is again!

Thanks for the compliment. :) Roughly 1-1.5 cubic is a pretty wiiiiiiiide :D range so it would be hard to say and my feeling is to try without it first to see what it sounds like. If that is a 12w6"v2" (one of my favorites :)) the bass should be "effortless" and it should get down real low with ease. If it doesn't you may want to experiment with some polyfill.

Thanks for the advice. I knew the 1-1.5 would draw some attention lol. Let you know how it turns out, oh and yes, it's that sub with a Genesis Profile Sub amp-550@2ohms so we'll see...

Ok, I threw in half a pound or so and sealed it up and the result is amazing. This is my first custom enclosure for an '05 Tacoma access cab. Stoked!

Polyfill simply fools the driver into think the box is bigger then it really is.
