Im sure I'm not the only one on here who is a struggling college kid. Just tryin to make it day by day to pay for the truck. What are you other students doing to get your money for mods for your tacos?

I did too. Couldnt find a job then. Working a part time job as many hours as I can to keep paying the truck payments as well as the newly developed student loans...

As far as mods...I do cheap ones...and save my pennies for the big ones. Once I save enough up, I get one big one, and do it myself (saves more pennies). Just do the little things first that are cheap. Best of luck, whats your major?

Here's a thought....buy a cheaper vehicle until you graduate and you can afford a better one.

Don't live beyond your means and you will be much happier.

i worked all the way through college. and i also did the cheap mods, you would be surprised what you can actually get done watch for the used parts, most of these are good as new just need a good cleaning. DO YOUR RESEARCH doing mods once is the best way to save money.

I am not having problems paying for the vehicle, sorry if it came across that way in the original post. But at the end of my monthly expenses I have maybe $10 left and I cannot get enough to start a serious mod. I was just curious as to how the members here that are in school, pay for their mods.

Not really. If i have 20% going to savings, 10% to rainy day, get all my truck payments taken care of, food for the month, and then I have $10 left. Budgeting.

    Dude $10 left?

What about savings? Something for "RAINY DAYS".

You've got to be able to save, save, save.

Poor Generations like us, will never see SOCIAL SECURITY when we age. :(

My parents always told me to save and buy a car just for transportation purpose only.
    Pffffffftttt.

They have plenty of money and own property all over. They bought a standard HONDA and snagged the cheapest deal. They dont care for color, they care for deals...

    I can't live like this.

Thankfully all my college expenses combined (tuition, food, rent, books, utilities) is less than 13k per year. Best school in the world for environmental education, and its ~7k a year for in state. :woot:

As for jobs when I get out... :tumbleweed:

haha you have solved your own problem. your rainy day fund? thats called, mods for a rainy day! I work like 60 hours a week, but i get to work in an a/c'd office...so its really not to bad, but i work 7 days a week which blows. I get all my evenings off, and if i request a day or two off...normally i dont have a problem. The crappy thing is the place is closed from November to February so theres 4 months I'm not bringing in pay checks so I stash cash like a squirrel stashes acorns...but i still find time to treat myself to an occational mod;)

Haha. I wish. I would love to use that money but I tend to need it for actual emergencies sometimes.
