Mine did that when the LCA bushing was bad.

My 2014 DC did the same thing, they all do it according to my dealer. Had a 117000 on her and replaced the front brake pads, no more clunk.

Same thing on my girls 2013 Taco, pulled the driver rear cam bolt and it was pulling the threads. Installed a new spc bolt and torqued it down.

Make sure to torque the rack and pinion especially if you have installed new bushing. That was my issue. Got it cranked to 100 lbs (92lbs is spec) no more popping sound

im experiencing a very similar sound on my 14 with after market UCAs and LCAs. i get the pop sound (not continuous) when in reverse at a turn and also when maneuvering over obstacles. The uniballs look great i lube them often. did you ever figure where your issue was?

edit: just read entire thread im going to try these fixes starting with tightening the LCA bolts and will update with my experience. thanks.

The popping in reverse Ive always thought was your rear drums resetting themselves.

This is def from the front sounds kind of like binding metal like a joint.

Does the truck need to be up on stands or a lift when I tighten the LCA bolts or can I do it just sitting in the driveway?

You want it resting on its own weight so the bushings are at their "neutral" position. Good idea to do it that way for any vehicle actually.

Put the front end up on ramps if you have them. You want the truck at ride height and the ramps will give you a little more room in which to work.
