Amazon returns are easy. Send it back to them. Buy the black one through Prime.

Here is my tailgate handle. The pic doesn't really show the orange peel very well, but it's there.
I have had it around 12 months, but it came with the paint worn almost as bad as the pic shows.

 

Amazon is not an "auction" site, and if the item was marked as "sold and fulfilled by Amazon" they probably are an authorised dealer...

 

Trust me, for $19 I'm not complaining

I truly hope mine doesn't look like that in 12 months. Maybe if I never open the tailgate...

If nothing else, I hope this thread helps people make an educated decision when deciding between the color matched and unfinished options!

 

I don't blame you one bit--it looks like crap.

When you bought it from Amazon was it marked as:

a) "sold and fulfilled by Amazon" or;
b) "sold by [company name] and fulfilled by Amazon" or;
c) "sold and shipped by [company name]"?

If a) then Amazon is likely an authorised vendor, even if not Amazon is NOT an "auction site".

If b) or c) the important part is is [company name] an authorised vendor; though if b) Amazon will back it up.

Been there and done all three...
