Is it possible to have the locking mechanism in the pop n lock changed to work with the key to my truck. I just got my access literider cover and wanted to install a pop n lock but I having to carry too many keys. Does anyone know if its possible to have my car keys work with the lock? Similiar to the way some car keys open the glove compartment.

Pretty sure no is the answer. The key/locking cylinder for the truck is too deep for that space. It's a tiny little key-plus you can leave it in the truck insted of on your key ring.
I have a key ring that's got my truck key and remote lock fob and then the hitch pin key and tailgate key stay in the truck all the time.

If this is your goal, get the electric version, it will lock and unlock with the remote! It's not too difficult to install and is your perfect solution. I had this on my Tundra and it was awesome!

Anything is possible with enough money and ingenuity. However, for average folks like you and me, no, not possible.

I just got the Literider, too. Installed it yesterday.

Just installed my Pop N Lock today. I already love it and feel much more confident in my ability to leave stuff in my box.

Did anybody find the need to use the little rod extenders? I found it didn't make any difference except for the hassle.

I would NOT count on the Pop-n-Jay to provide security. I am willing to bet a good hard yank on the handle will in fact "Pop" the tailgate open. These things are just not robust. I have one.

that's all any lock does. If someone wants in there bad enough, they will get in.

Who is counting on that? Anyone with a clue knows that anything can be stolen. However, those same folks with a clue also know that you shouldn't make it easy for a thief either which is why I have both a PopnLock and a hose clamp on my tailgate.
