Popping sound on rough roads.. (cab mnt?)

Once I got the arm off, I took one wack at the forward bushing and it just fell right out onto the concrete . The rear bushing would not budge (As it should be). I'd say I found my bad bushing that was contributing to the clunking sound. I'll take care of the replacement and install tomorrow.

 

i literraly have this same exact problem on my truck on the drivers side when im turning right it bugs the shit out of me and i had no clue what it was i have looked under the truck numerous times and couldent figure out what it was im going to check this out tomorrow after work and hopefully thats it but why did it run you 230 bucks just for one bushing that sounds a little steep

 

im lagging it as well, my passenger side is popping when i turn left i looked at my lca bolts but there is a gap just like your pics OP, and its on the left and right LCA

 

I bought all 4 to be safe ($50 a pop). Finished up the drivers side today and what an improvement. Now to do the passenger side next weekend

 

Gap is normal. It's the shifting back and forth (gap closes and opens) that indicates the bushing is bad. In my case the front bushing was no longer pressed into the control arm. Dam thing practically fell out with one wack of my rubber mallet. The metal on metal shifiting of the bushing, plus the arm contacting the frame during a hard turn is what created the clanking sound.

 

good to know man thanks, did you have to take the lca to a shop to have them pressed in or do they just slip in ???

 

ah i see, so how do i figure out if its shifting while im driving?

smart hahah so i should check the front bushing and the back as well right? so four angles? since theres front and back for two bushings?

 

Follow this tutorial. Worked for me only my bolts were not frozen so it was easier.

 

^^ This. Only way and it may be difficult if your symptom is infrequent. I only caught it because the symptom manifested after power steering fluid leaked onto the bushing and increased the frequency of the noise

 

To be thorough, yes. Not very many places to safely mount a camera so you may have to get creative

 

ill still put the go pro and listen for it but i realized the noise is gone now that i completely lowered my coilovers, it mightve been those things squeaking?

Squeaking is probably something other than you bushings. I was experiencing more of a pop/clunk sound. The only squeaking I've ever come across on my vehicle has been uniballs or leaf springs (fixed with spray lubricant - I prefer teflon spray)

 

mine is a clunk i have the exact sound as in the video its annoying as hell

 

It starts off as happening only during tight turns into driveways or over bumpy ground. For me it didn't get worse until I took a spill offoading.

yeah it used to pop on driveways, and sudden turns, weird angled inclines too
