    Hey All,
I'm currently looking for a decent portable bluetooth speaker to bring out on the beach and use for camping and whatnot. I need one with great sound and battery capacity, and one that will charge phones while playing. My budget is around $400 max. I'm looking hard at the Kicker Bullfrog speaker, but if anyone has any recommendations, I'd be open to hear them! Let me know what you've used and liked! Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

In. I've been using a small Best Buy brand speaker but have always a larger high quality rugged one to keep by the pool.

What "larger high quality rugged one" do you have?

I also have a Best Buy Insignia bluetooth speaker that recharges devices, but not at the same time. Two built-in speakers, 30-hour play time, and weather resistant. Got it on sale for $25.

Yeah, I love that thing and it's taken a beating. Lasts for days too!

    I'd highly recommend it.

Buddy of mine bought one of these at Sam's club about 4 years ago. It is a bad ass radio. Battery life is very impressive and it's taken a beating over the course of is life.

This is the same one that I own! I love it. Sorry I meant I have always "wanted" a larger rugged one.

Well, it isn't stocked locally at Best Buy.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ion-job-rocker-plus-portable-bluetooth-speaker-orange/5882015.p

However, Best Buy does carry a similar ION speaker with basically the same specs for $120 in stock:

    Decisions!

How's the sound quality on the Ion units?

I have the Exogear Stone and it's pretty sweet. But waterproof, shockproof and dust proof works for me!

    It rocks

"The DemerBox outplays and has outlasted every other portable speaker I've brought to location. You can use it in any environment. Battery never ends. It's the #1 portable speaker for the Survivor crew. And I use one at home as well – back yard, pool, playing tennis. It's so rugged you can bring it anywhere and the sound is amazing."

The sound quality is really good even with the volume cranked. These radios are worth every penny.

Liking this Demerbox, too! I just shot them an email to see when additional colors (other than USCG orange) might become available.

UE Megaboom FTW! shock dust and water proof. Battery last about 12 hours micro usb charger and great mids and bass is a little weaker but tolerable. love mine for home gym use work and outdoor entertainment. You can also pair any UE boom products together for a surround sound effect I have the ue boom 2 and ue megaboom.

I will agree with everyone who linked the Ion Blockrockers lol. When you have 2 of them they sync together and play off the 1 device. They have to be able to see each other though.

We bought 2 for a houseboat trip and right out of the box they lasted over 12 hours. They are loud, water proof, and have a mic for karaoke if your into that shit. Jump 2 years and they are still working fine.
Its biggest fault is its bulky and heavy.
