They just plain work!! The size is perfect, and it’ll go everywhere my buddies do with their jeeps.

Got the front diff pulled. Found that pulling the driver side bolts on the steering rack, and loosening the passenger side to give the rack a bit of movement definitely helps get the diff out. I won’t be reusing this one, I have one with 4.88’s and an ARB waiting to go into the double cab.

Dropping the front end certainly makes accessing the inspection plate easier. Trans is now free of the motor, and I’ll be pulling it tonight.

Motor’s out. Man, I can’t believe how easy this really is. And it’s blizzarding like a MF’er today, so driving a 2wd prerunner sucks balls. Locked, full throttle, stuck like a chump everywhere!

And she’s stripped and will be headed to the back yard to wait for fall. Now the double cab comes in, and the work begins!

My buddy grabbed the spare rear end, he’s going to throw it under his 95.5, so he’s got a rear locker.

Next trip was back into Radium area, but an early snow fall kept us out of the high country.

We played a bit at lower elevations, then drove a nasty blizzard home from Radium Hot Springs thru Banff to Calgary and to Red Deer.

Took a run to grande cache to get my 4.88’s from a fella that hydro-locked his 4runner. $600 Canadian got me a matched pair with an ARB front locker, and a Toyota rear elocker. 11 hours round trip, but worth it to me.

I need to get my dc ready for spring. This trail gets about 6-8’ of snow over the winter, and can be a hell of a lot of fun come spring. Really looking forward to it!

Fabbed up 8 6”x5” plates with 4 tapped 1/2” NC thread holes for sliders. 4 mounts, 4 1/2” bolts per plate, 16 per side. I’ll weld these to the frame and coat them. Should be sufficient to hold the weight of the truck. This way the sliders are removable, should I want to pull them.

Got my buddy over to move the pos’s frame to the back yard. It’s going to sit there until fall, when I can frame swap the 98 with the broken frame.

Pulled and sold the box. This truck’s getting a rebco logger box, which I’m modifying with a couple tool boxes. The plan is to move the battery to the rear, and set it up for duals. The other side will get there on-board air set up, and tool storage in both cabinets.

There’s a fair bit of welding to do. The frame ahead of the passenger lead is rotten. Tub the firewall for 35”. And fit up the Rebco.
