A major bonus during hunting season, the timber companies tend to unlock gates.

Went for a drive today. Took WY forest road 300 NW from south pass near Lander, WY. Did a little exploring at ~9500 feet.

Got to go out for a while this past weekend, and I ended up with some pictures of my truck in the mountains.

What a great 3 day weekend. we went to Death Valley, got there at 10:00 Friday night, great 4WD road up . Elevation was 8100 feet and we woke up to this:
Trail head was next to the campground, hiked up to Telescope peak (highest peak in Death Valley @ 11000 + feet) windy and 22 degrees at the top. :(

stayed there Saturday night, it dropped down to almost 0 degrees F . We bugged out early Sunday and headed down to Bad Water (lowest point in the Americas@283 Feet below sea level. Since we couldn't camp in the valley we headed up to the off road trails and found an old abandoned Talc Mine to camp near. it was a wonderful 47 degrees F at night. Great trails needed 4 lo a few times.
