But u single cab guys are the guys I gotta talk to. And I feel like most Tacoma are not single cab. At least where I live in sunny California. I got this truck from family at 9k elevation in high desert Nevada. They had heat and snow galore depending on the season. Now I’ve got mostly heat a beating sunlight. She needs paint badly. but engine and everything else works awesome. I bought her in 2010 for 4.5k with only 58k miles on her. Best deal of my entire life and didn’t even realize it till a few years later. These truck grew on me. Toyota grew on me. I’m also trying to swap a 3.4 into my 95 4runner. Toyota took my soul and idk if I chose the right company. But they just don’t stop going. Until the frame breaks in half lol

P.S I’m only into tacos 4 runners and land cruisers pre 2002ish. All u 2nd gen 3rd gen(except 4runners) guys got a whole lot of things and electronics I don’t like to mess with. Also u may or may not have $$ cause the newer Toyota’s are PRICEY. I’m a simple man really. But to each their own. Driving my friends 2012 taco is fun as hell! but my little sardine truck just feels right. And not having 2million buttons and rolling my own window down just feels right. Also getting out in a blizzard to engage the lockers is just part of the fun.

@Hefer408, grease the hell out your drivelines before you assume they’re bad. The rear driveline has 5 grease fittings; 3 in the double cardan, 1 on the slip joint and 1 on the rear u joint.

DC joint is pretty much impossible to replace.

However, @1997tacomav6 just replaced his driveshaft on his single cab v6 manual 4x4 and found a nice one for a good price. Was like 400 bucks or something.

Damn thanks for the info! My shorty driveshaft is only $286 with free shipping. I’m thinking bout jumping on it. If the man with the half a million mile truck says it’s good. I couldn’t find any other aftermarkets.

Absolutely, joints are all Spicer and perfect fit and Spicer joints are replaceable if needed including the Cardin joint.
Zero vibrations all the way up to 90 mph.

I bought mine last year but it was a least 100 cheaper, maybe they runs sales from time to time, I would call them and see if you can get a discount
