Shaydo’s Reggae-lar Cab build

Aloha gang, I think it’s time to start me up a build thread. There might not be drastic changes each time nor will it be super detailed like some of the other epic threads. I’ll do my best with pictures because everyone loves pictures.

Here we go!
This is what I have so far:

I started with a 1995.5 Tacoma 4WD Regular Cab I bought from a friend. I was just dying to have it because it’s the very first year of the Tacoma and it was a regular cab which is my preference. Finally he gave in to selling it to me because he needed more room for his two boys so he got an extra cab.

Swapped out the og wheels for some 2018 Trail Editions

Got ahold of a TRD Supercharger w/5th injector and fuel timing calibrator.

I bought a 3” Toytec Boss Coil Over lift kit with Total Chaos UCAs and rear AAL from toyteclifts.com

Put a new Autometer boost gauge and wide band on the Craven Speed flex pod gauge mount.

AFe Power Stage 2 Pro Dry cold air intake to compliment the s/c

TRD Shift knob and LCE Short throw shift kit for shits n giggles

New rubbers

And finally this is how we sitting at the very moment. Weather tech slip-in wind deflectors also on.

Stay tuned for more of my build up. I plan to get the exhaust system, new clutch, and gears by summer time and hopefully a locker as well.

 

Awesome build you've got here. I'm partial to white regular cabs myself. How's your MPG with the supercharger? As for lockers, I highly recommend the Harrop e-locker. They're mechanically simpler than the Toyota e-locker or ARB and an easy install.

gotten around calculating my mpgs but I’ll try to update it on the next fill up. What bumper you got man?

 

It’s a Trail Gear low profile bumper. It’s the lightest bumper I could find that fits a winch.

 

Some front end maintenance before alignment. Too bad I had to find out the hard way the inner tie rods sold to me were the wrong f'n ones...

I'll just have to wait till NAPA opens on the 2nd... it'll be fine for now

 

Did some not too radical wheeling today after all night of rain. I love how good the Km3’s sheds some of the most clayeyest mud I’ve encountered.

 

At this point I’ve got almost a completely rebuilt front end LoL

 

Went for some fish to eat for dinner this morning



Waiting for my alignment appointment in a couple hours. I stopped by NAPA Auto Parts because a buddy told me there was one set of Truck-Lite H4 conversion headlights left. Got these to put some LED’s inside until I have the wallet for some real Rigids or Truck-Lite full led sets.

 

Did some lighting today. Replaced all my exterior bulbs wit LEDs. Silvanya makes a great led in their Zevo lineup. I chose those because of the lifetime warranty.

For my headlights I went with a pair of Auxbeam H4-S3’s my friend had laying around but wasn’t using.

Finished of the evening with a nice ride on the sand to a cookout spot at the beach.

Yes Hawai’i is a land where Tacomas roam in paradise haha. We especially love these 1st gens!

Not much more done yet until I get my clutch installed. I just got back from work on the east coast (PA) yesterday and leaving for vacation in Japan tomorrow. Got some pictures of my one day at home doing what I love, driving my truck and fishing with my friends lol.

 

Did you get your supercharger locally?

 

I did I bought it off a friend here on Kaua’i

 

Man, Thing is sick! I bought my truck on Kauai and just got the frame finally finished here on Maui. I drove it down polihale then straight to the docks

Super small update... got mud a set of flaps finally. They’re from late first get so they have a small space that’s usually filled by the fender flares. Hopefully I can get ahold of the elusive oem 1” fiberglass ones soon for that matter... need to find some screws for the fronts I guess I’ll do that when I get back from PA again.

No spacers! The Trail Editions have a great offset already. The tires are BFG KM3’s 265/70R17’s

 

What happen to the rear sliding window that was in the first couple pics or did I miss it?
