Sorry, that's as good as I can do for now. Garage is packed to the gills and the bumper/sliders are already buried under another layer of boxes & other storage items. Cold, rainy weather here until probably late May or so. Once it's hot & dry I can use a pressure washer w/ Simple Green to clean it all, multiple plain-water rinses, and then get completely bone-dry surfaces before applying a self-etching primer.

Planning to use MasterCoat primer & MasterCoat AG111 (black satin) for finish coat.

"Repair Geek" on youtube did, in my opinion, one of the most comprehensive durability tests of multiple hard-use / anti-rust paint systems here & MasterCoat seems to be the clear winner:

After a week or so of mucking about I finally finished cleaning / priming / painting everything. Will wait another 5 days or so for the urethane-based finish coat to fully harden before mounting bumper & sliders on the truck.

    Here's a full write-up of the prep & paint process I used:

Got my 2nd gen standard rear bumper + swingout installed. My initial impressions, having installed it but not actually used it on-road yet, is that this is pretty close to a perfect product.

All the important clearances from bumper to vehicle are excellent -- to the tailgate hinges, and particularly the gap underneath the tail lights, allowing the bed & the frame/bumper to flex relative to one another without cracking a tail light.

Fitment for my bumper was smooth. I was able to slot it into place over the frame rails by hand, just using my fist & arm strength to nudge it into position. Bolts all threaded in by hand. (No rust on my truck.) I'm guessing the hole placements for the mounting plates must be toleranced to +/- 0.25mm, possibly even less.

Fitment for the swing-out was likewise excellent, possibly even tighter tolerances, as my coating the lever-latch & pin mechanism in probably just a couple of mils of primer + paint caused noticeably tight fitting until I wire-wheeled it off the critical areas. Likewise, all the tapped/threaded mounting holes were perfectly executed.

During the paint-prep process, after acid-stripping, I looked over every single visible weld on every part - bumper, swingout, & sliders. They are uniformly excellent. Beyond "stack of dimes" in most cases & closer to something like "ideal fusion." No pinholes, voids. I'm confident that the interiors of the slider tubes are fully sealed, likewise the bumper tow-hitch cross-tube.

Looks-wise, as I've said before in other posts, I don't think there is another aftermarket steel plate bumper that respects & complements the 2nd gen Tacoma body shape/flow as well as this one does. I really like having a 2" receiver at the same height & location as the OEM hitch.

    Thanks Adam & 4xInnovations.

Here are some pics. My truck is mainly for work with occasional off-roady jaunts, not a show vehicle, so don't mind the dust/dirt etc. Glam shots aren't my thing.

I'll post pics of the sliders after mounting.
