So I'm going to spray paint my truck with rattle cans and I'm really excited! I know I'm not the only one, so post some pics of your rattle canned rigs! I'll post plenty of my own once I start this project. Give me suggestions if you want cuz this will be my first time painting a whole truck. I'm pretty sure I want neon green.

Be sure to degrease, sand, fill, sand, fill, sand, prime, sand, rattle can, sand,.........

With luck the rattle can job will last a few years before it begins to turn.

    Good Luck.

I'm aware that a rattle can paint job won't look great forever but the truck is pretty rough anyway. I'm really only doing this for fun. Sorry, it's not a Toyota! I took off the fender flares and found a little rust, but not near as much as I expected. Almost ready for primer!IMG_2863.jpg IMG_2864.jpg IMG_2866.jpg IMG_2867.jpg IMG_2871.jpg IMG_2872.jpg IMG_2873.jpg

Post pics when done. Rattle can really is only as good as the prep... And sanding but if you're excited too do it it'll probably be bad ass

I used an electric sander until the old paint wasn't shiny. Then I sprayed and wiped off all the loose paint and dirt. Then I put tape and plastic on everything I didn't want to paint. Then I did primer, paint, and clear coat. I didn't have enough green, but I decided to leave it like that because I like it! Here's more pics of the old boy. I still have to put the emblems back on.IMG_2906.jpg IMG_2909.jpg IMG_2915.jpg IMG_3018.jpg IMG_3026.jpg IMG_3021.jpg

Driving my trucks is my favorite thing, and I also love taking pictures of my trucks and putting useless things on them to make them look cool! I recently put flame decals on my Taco. Oh yeah, and today I found out that I like to change oil. I changed my Ranger's oil by myself, my dad just helped me unscrew the plug because it was real tight. I wanted to get pictures but I was a mess! Here's my Taco with flames. I did the other side too but it didn't turn out as good.IMG_3169.jpg

hahahaha that's fantastic! i like it, learning, getting into things! don't be afraid. dive in and learn everything.
We need to get a meetup going so we (the locals) can all meet up. I've seen a lot of dressed out tacos around town, and assume they're on TW, but dont know anyone. Of course i'd recognize your trucks, ive seen yours pictures, which are awesome btw.

Mine is just a basic 3rd Gen, silver TRD Off Road right now, probably 1000 around just like it. i plan to put in a bumper and winch when i find the right one. 2nd Gens were easier to find accessories for!

Some day I might get a 3rd gen. I could've saved up and paid cash for a new truck instead of buying all my old trucks with issues, but I'm glad I didn't. I used to regret buying my project Ranger, but now I'm having too much fun with the little guy. My 98 Dodge Ram is in great shape and has only 46k miles, so I'm obsessed with keeping that one clean and shiny. My Taco has almost 292k miles and is my daily driver and mud toy. My dad is the original owner and he's still proud of it. I had a 2nd gen Taco too, but only for ten days. After finding out that the frame was about to break in half, I drove it back to the dealer and they bought it back! They ended up welding the frame and selling the truck to someone else. Here's a picture of it.637091597796090290.jpg

wow scary! I had heard about the frame issues, had mine inspected but it was clean. so they were going to apply the sealant to the frame and sign off the TSB, but then i wrecked it

I'm glad you took it back in! and luckily you had the opportunity for another one! haha
