Got a chance to do some CADD work tonight!

Here is a picture of the uprights that go from the frame to the top tube. These will replace the tube that I used in the prototype, and will be made from 1/4" plate. There will be two, 2" apart with some more 1/4" plate in-between. Should look a lot like the pre-runner style bumper uprights. I think these will be very cool and the icing on the cake for sure. There is more to them, 6 parts that will be laser cut actually, this is just so you can get an idea of what they will look like. Enjoy!!!

I'd be interested in a wrap-around. Is there anyway to use plate steel for the bar-to-bumper attachment piece (wait, I saw your CADD update, got it!) and to make the side supports stronger, perhaps out of plate steel as well?

I'm looking for something that could take a 7-10mph impact from the front without crumpling/folding (like bullbars are known for doing), and a mild impact from the side, 2-5mph. I understand this isn't your original intention, body protection, but I think your current design is so close and your willingness to take suggestions is so encouraging, that I just had to ask. :)

I also really like your doubled-up bar approach on the top/front. (un-finished prototype on front page, original post).

How thick is the plate steel that you're going to use?

    Blank slate - brand new!
Very sweet! I really like the plate upright! I'm interested if the wrap-around style with the plate upright fits a 2012. Any idea what the price will be with the update? G/L with business and thank you for your service!

MrsPib, I believe 100% we can work something out to your liking. With the new plate I have above there will be 4 peices of 1/4" plate going from the frame to the bumper, so I know that will be very strong. For the sides, I think it will already be strong, but I am sure we can come up with a slightly modified version for you. I can do the sides out of 1 1/2" tubing instead of 1". Might make it a little bulkier, but it will be much stronger... If you want to, PM me, and I will figure out how to make it suit your needs!! I have a few ideas we can discuse.

Unzapato - I think the price will honestly be close to the same. When I made the prototype I had intended changing that, so I somewhat took it into account. I sent my drawings into the laser cutter this AM, so once I get the final price from them, I will be able to give you the final price, but it will be within $20 if not the same. Also I am meeting up with a member hopefully next week to test fitment on the 2012, but from what I am told, the fitment is the same and there will be no issue!!!

Nice work OP! The wrap around one looks great - I voted satin black for the color. Any idea of the price for shipping one to Seattle?

You are correct on the license plate. I plan on giving people the option to get licence plate tabs if they would like. Still not 100% on location, but they will either be center of the bumper below the tube, or off to the side below the center tube and also grabbing the riser so it's nice and ridged.

I'll post a couple example shots in a bit when I get home so you can see what I mean.

I will do this at no extra cost.

    - GOV875 - PM sent on shipping. As for jacking, I think the bumper can handle it, but not the bolts that it bolts to. The frame supplies us with 4 7/16" bolts, that's it... There are also the two bolts I grab on the bottom, but I'm not sure I would go out and do it... But that's my opinion, you might see it and say "looks good"

This looks awesome!! I'm more interested in it for protection at low impact speed that anything.

How about a quote for shipping to 06410??

Would price drop if it was ordered unpainted and without lighttabs??

    Just a thought...
