I'm not sure how I feel about drilling and riveting them on though. I would think there is a way to use existing holes to bolt from underneath. Granted, it would be difficult to install having to reach up into the fenders, but I wouldn't have to put holes in my new truck.

Thought about that, but I work a lot out of the back of my truck. They laid perfectly flat, but I'm constantly picking things up into and out of the bed, sooner or later I felt I was going to catch an edge and bend it up. Then have to take the tool box out and remove rail caps to fix, so a few rivets it is. Stock rail would cover anything if I ever think I'll get rid of it.

Doesn't surprise me, but I figured I would offer anyway. Solidworks, Pro-e, or other?

Good deal. I started with Autocad after doing manual drafting, then went to SW. My job now uses Pro-e and I've been forced to get used to it. I still have a copy of SW at home for personal use. I used Mastercam for CNC for 5 or so years when I was doing that for a living and while at school.

The only CNC that I know is Hypertherm Pronest. That's what I use to nest my tailgate caps and bed brackets.

    Hey Voodoo, three questions:

    1) The powder coat isn't that really rough (almost abrasive) feeling powder coat is it? Judging by the pictures it looks like the smooth dimple kind, but just to be sure I thought I'd ask. I wouldn't want it rubbing something raw or leaving black scuff marks behind.

    2) Was there a final decision on a "tight fit" version?

    3) Do you ship to Canada or only the States at this time?

    Cheers :canada:

I can answer #1: No it isn't abrasive at all. It has texture but is quite smooth to the touch. Matches the interior of the bed quite well.

Here is my review of the cap since it's buried a couple pages back now.

Hahaha.... tell me about it. But that said you won't be disappointed. It looks so much better than stock and makes the tailgate feel so much more substantial.

    Yes. PM'ed KB.
Hey, do you know if this would make it harder to have a shell on the bed?
I may be going that route later on and wouldn't want to put this on then figure that out.
    Thanks

I think this will actually help with all shells and tonneau covers.
