Quick caveat with the jumper. Your battery will be able to stay on without the key also, which is nice. Just don't forget to turn it off. Also if you have the passenger airbag turn off switch/key, turned off. It will stay illuminated 24/7.

Could you walk us through the step of making the jumper? I'm curious about the insulation (? I assume that's what the blue stuff is).

It's just 2 crimped male spade connectors on either side of a piece of wire.

I can make about anything you want out of wood, but I'm ignorant as all get out about electronics.

its easier if you make the wire about 1 1/2" long so it has room to bend and then after its plugged in you just push the sticking up loop of wire over to one side to fold it over so its not sticking up and the lid closes on the fuse box.

when plugging in the brand new connectors it will sometimes be very snug the first time when using new connectors so use a needle nose pliers to grip them to push them on.

also if you are using female connectors, its best to plug them onto something like the power relay you removed and after plugging it in once or twice it loosens to form the right fit for the terminals, new female connectors are always a very tight fit. if you are using male connectors then this step is not needed.

Got it sorted. I showed my brother a picture and he says "I have all that stuff in the garage" (He restores antique tractors as a hobby, go figure). Works great!

Can anyone tell me where the relay for the 12 volt power outlets (aka cigarette lighters) is located?

Do not see any relays located near the interior cab fuse panel.

Do not see any relays in the engine compartment labeled 'power outlet'.

Any idea where this relay might be for a 2015 Double Cab 4x2 Taco.

Looking for the relay that controls the 12 volts to the power outlets in the cab, not for the 110 volt power outlet.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm installing a Blue Sea dual usb charger in my 2003 in the power outlet. I am assuming that the red w/stripe is the positive and the 2 white w/stripe are the ground wires?? I have been told that the Blue Sea 1045 only has a 1mA parasitic draw, so I am going to do the "always on" mod too. Now if I can just figure out how to remove the power outlet!!!

I mounted one of these on the console part under the ashtray in my 2004. I replaced the 12 v. accessory plug and USB outlets with Blue Sea Systems components. A little gray dye spray too. I can't find the photo I had of it.

Hopefully I can figure it out. I installed one in my 99 land cruiser, and I ordered another one for the Tacoma. I guess I connect both of the white w/ black stripe wires to the negative post... is that right?
