Has anyone installed the power pop and lock version for the tail gate?
Does it work good and do you like it?

There's a few threads about it but I installed mine this weekend. Easy mod and a decent deterrent

Did take me a lil' while to find the right wires to cut into in the driver's side kick panel (not the most comfortable area to work in position-wise)...apparently the wire color scheme didn't stay the same across the second gen years...

I searched the forum but I mostly only saw info on the manual system.

There's actually a good video on YouTube on how to install them. It just doesn't say how reliable they are and their opinion if they like it better than the manual one

I've had mine in for almost two years...only problem I had was when I left my keys in the bed and then closed the tailgate.... (remember I said I had extang solid fold tonnau cover??)

Lucilly keys were cliped on back-pack right at the rear of the bed...I was able to pry the cover up just far enough to get an arm in and unclip my keys...that was in an airport parking lot...

No reliability problem....I did use an inordinate amount of electrical tape and wire conduit/shielding in the install...the run up the bottom of the truck to the cab is as protected as any of the factory wiring...

I like mine. Wired it to the passenger lock though so it won't pop every time I get in.
Do take the advice on something to absorb the vibrations. It mounts using one fastener and hangs on a sheet metal bracket. I glued on a piece of rubber to act as a standoff and prevent the boing sound. When you close the gate. Oh and use locktite. I was scared it would shift and I would have to break my bed lid to get at it.
