Power windows

I sold my Lexus GX Saturday and purchased a TRD Offroad. I love the truck so far but noticed today that I can't roll down the windows with the remote. My Lexus remote opened the windows if you held down the unlock button on the remote. Does anyone know if this can be programed for the Tacoma?

 

I don't know what year you have, but if it is 05-15 then no it can not be programmed. There is a module you can buy to program it in though (as well as one touch up and down windows)

Yeah it doesn't do it when holding the unlock on the remote. I guess they save that for upper tier name brands

 

I just purchased a new 2016. I had a 2008 4Runner that had that option, I was hoping the new trucks had it as well.

 

The new 4Runners don't have that feature anymore. I wish I had that for my Tacoma.

 

Unfortunately no - that type of feature is what sets Lexus apart as a luxury brand

 

coming from a mazda, one thing i do miss is the remote down windows. even without a fob, many cars you can put windows down from outside by putting key in door and turning and holding. tacoma is not one of these vehicles unfortunately.

 

so what happens when you hold down the unlock button when it's raining?
