So one cable for fuse block to battery and one separate cable for SP to battery.

    Each with their own fuse.

No unfortunately not. Since the switch pro extends past the bottom of the tray I can't use the relocation bracket that I usually use to relocate the clutch fluid reservoir. I need to get some measurements on how far out the clutch fluid reservoir sticks so that I can create a tray with a big cut out so the reservoir can remain in its location.

Thanks, I'll be getting this in the next week or so.

I got a 2.5 foot cable in my original powertray order.. I assume that would be ok instead of the 3' cable you mentioned? if you think the 3' is a little long.

And just to clarify, I would attach the 2' cable with inline fuse right to the battery and fuse box, then the 2.5' one to the single terminal fuse holder with I originally bought going to the switch pro? The fuse in my terminal fuse holder is 100 amp... I should get a 125 amp fuse for that and the switch pro, right?

Correct. You need this 125A MRBF fuse for the 2.5' cable to the SP power terminal and this 100A AMI/MIDI inline fuse for the 2' cable to the Blue Sea fuse block.

Vertical SP9100 PowerTray Install in Progress

So far pretty happy with the new vertical PowerTray. It looks like the horizontal and vertical trays were cut from the same cloth, so I'm not sure how the slight problem I encountered has not surfaced for horizontal owners who use Redline struts.

The plastic top of the Blue Sea ground bus bar was slightly interfering with the hood struts I installed. The hood would close, but the compressed air strut would contact the extreme edge of the plastic top on closure and dislodge it. I added about 1/4" with fender style washers to the PowerTray mount to create room for the strut to close. The added offset had no detrimental effect on the mounting of the vertical SP100.

Perhaps Redline changed the tolerances for the ball joints. Anyway, something to be aware of as a Redline/PowerTray user.

    image2.jpg

The SwitchPro outputs are cut to 10" with the 20A circuits receiving 1/8" sleeves and the 35A circuits 1/4" sleeves.

With Off Road Engineering being such a stickler on warranty claims, I left the SwitchPro ground wire full length for a direct connection to the battery per their instructions.

    IMG_3149.jpg

The SwitchPro power module wired and standing up off its back. It seems happy. The owner is :)

Got my powertray bench wired. Have the outputs wired up to Deutsch connectors attatched to the bottom of the panel. In hind sight I could've probably just wired the harness directly to the connectors and deleted the bus bar but oh well, it looks good. Lol. Hopefully I can get in on the truck next weekend.

Wow what a good-looking install! That's weird about the grounding busbar, not sure what's going on as it's in the same location as the original horizontal version. But I'm glad you were able to figure it out with just a small spacer. :fistbump:

I've been spending a majority of my time completely rewiring the entire truck. When I figured out I was pulling 84 amps with my lights I realized something had to change.

    IMG_20191129_220612_254.jpg

I originally made an electrical distribution unit myself but it was only designed for 60 amps. "Add on" after "add on" made the whole thing a mess. It also made it so I couldn't turn all my lights on at the same time if I wanted to.

Here's a picture after I took most of it apart for labeling.

I decided to go with a sPod Bantam and PowerTray. At the same time I installed a dual battery to give a little more pep to the lights. I made my own battery cables because I wanted a larger gauge than all the kits offered. Most offer 2 gauge and I went with 1/0 gauge.

Sure! I took my time and did it over the course of two weeks since I had so much to change. What are you planning on mounting to the PowerTray?

I got the BlueSea 12 circuit kit. Need to rewire all my aux stuff. And figure a better way to mount my HID ballasts.

So I've got the light bar, raptor lights, ditch lights, HIDs, etc. I'm confident I can do it all myself, but it might be time for a mod day...

Novices... I just pulled out my 2016 SwitchPro (8100) out of the box three days ago, after pulling it out of a garage closet...It should help with the re-install of my 1980's CB...Seriously.

    Good notes/thoughts/Questions;

Those camera tiny wiring. My front bumper (mounted on 45 degree angle on my ARB Bull Deluxe panel that connects to skid plate - for what did I almost run over?) camera's wiring is sub-22.

Extra SP8100 +/- wiring possibly needed between battery and SwitchPro. My vertical ( perpendicular to the truck's length) dual battery system has the accessory battery's positive at the very front of the truck's engine bay. Might need a couple of inches.

Need to consider whether I need my current Blue Sea 5032? in the inside cab, as well as a engine bay fuse panel and my Switch Pro. Currently it is direct wired to the accessory battery with a 50? amp fuse that should be updated to match the internal fuse panel capability, but I haven't even hooked anything up to it internally.

Relays? I have a IBS dual battery system, Warn Winch, ARB twin compressor, and plan on getting lights. The Blue Sea internal fuse box was planned for the CB, (2) cameras, Valentine One, etc. I really want to be able to switch the CB (and possible future 10 meter radio) between ignition switched for normal, and accessory battery camping/emergency. Yes, I will probably plan for other lighting.

Can you use aftermarket hood struts with your mounts? I see one of your competitors doesn't.

    Very well thought out systems.

Maverick/Mr. PowerTray has been very helpful and courteous in walking me through how his product offerings would support my requirements. I actually bought the entire kit (tray, fuse box, buss, terminal control, etc), including the specific sized screws, and a couple of tailored cables because of my faith in his attention to detail.

Matt got it all packed up and ready to go...but then I had a moderate correction to the information I had supplied to him. We coordinated the final set up, and he modified the component as needed, got it packed up and shipped 2 Day Priority Express before his day ended. Set to be delivered Saturday.

    Kudos to Maverick and PowerTrays
