That’s a good point, To stay compliant with Switch-Pros wishes you would need an additional power cable to reach over to your auxiliary battery for the fuse block.

I’ve never really gotten a clear answer from Switch-Pros on why they say they’ll void your warranty if you use a stubby cable to jumper power from the positive post on the Switch-Pros... I mean I totally get that it can affect things like the low-voltage disconnect feature and/or the battery voltage read out in the app... but it doesn’t damage anything and to actually void someone’s warranty for that is disheartening

1/2 inch. Used 5 fender washers, taped together to form a roll, put a larger one on the end for more contact point surface and bought longer bolts to ensure that I had enough thread depth. Worked out great. Doesn't appear to affect fitment at all.

Tried reaching out via email and phone number on the PowerTrays website...I'm interested in picking up one for my bussman build but wanted to know what they looked like and if they're still being made/shipped out (or if there are longer lead times with everything going on)?

    Thanks!

Hey sorry for not getting back to you. I had to get a million things done before heading outta town for a family reunion this week so anything that wasn’t life or death got pushed to the side momentarily. Anyways I’m just on a layover rn so I don’t have any pics to share but all I did to the original design is moved the RTMR cut out a half inch inboard so it would clear aftermarket hood struts.
However it seems that most people still would rather have the two mini busbars on both sides (as you noted you wanted in your email) as opposed to the singular large one so I’m thinking about changing it to that style anyhow.

Again though I’m sorry about the lack of communication. I’ll get back to your email and once I’m back next Monday we can start the design process.

Also here’s a little teaser for what’s coming next from PowerTrays. Same design for the Switch-Pros but utilizes standoffs so it can be mounted to any flat surface.

love to get your guys thoughts!

I really appreciate the response!! And I completely understand (family first).

I do have a few ideas and if possible would love to pass them on. If you want I can PM my phone number so we can discuss, if that would be easier, or I can send sketches and ideas through email.

Either way thanks again and look forward to our discussion

I have both the vertical mount switchpros powertray and spiker engineering hood stuts ready to install. I remember seeing a conflict between the two, but it can be resolved by some hardware to offset the tray.

Any recommendations on what specific hardware I should get? I can order the individual parts on www.fastenal.com. Local hardware stores seemed to be stripped with everything going on...

Also, I ordered my Powertray June 21st and received it shortly after. Is the any chance that mine has the new design that clears aftermarket hood struts?

Still waiting to hear back from you. Sent a revised email last week...believe I just need the plain bussman cut tray with one change (removal of the left opening/cutout) if possible. Don't need the proposed bracket piece. I may be able to do the cutouts for the Circuit Breaker and the holes for the busbar mounts.

Hey what's guys waiting to hear back from @Mr.PowerTrays but thought I should reach out here .
Just want to make sure I got everything I need before I place the order. I got a 2017 TRDOR and just got a fridge so I want to start upgrading the electrical. I ordered a Group 27F Northstar, and 2nd gen battery tray. My goal right now is to add a panel to the bed of the truck so I can plug my fridge in. Since I plan to hook up the bed panel directly to the bluesea I don't think I need the switch pro at the moment. No winch at the moment. Besides what I attached in the pic, I think the only thing I need is the cable to go to the bed of the truck. Any suggestions on gauge for that?Screen Shot 2020-08-24 at 9.57.33 AM.jpg

Yup thats everything you need for the install of the Switch-Pros PowerTray system and as for the fridge, I offer a 10 AWG wiring harness and Blue Sea accessory panel that will allow you to Power your fridge and monitor your battery voltage at the same time. Plus there's two USB outlets so you can charge your phone speaker camp lights whatever you need back there too.

Alright peeps just want to make sure I’m wiring this correctly. So far so good? Don’t have a switch pro yet so going to wire a panel from the bed of the truck to the blue sea so that I can power the fridge. From my understanding I just need to run cables from the back panel to the blue sea and plug the positive to the top portion of the blue sea and the nagatice to either the bottom or the extra negative block? Correct?

The ARB 50L has a peak draw of like 4 amps.

USBs are usually 1-2.2 amps each. I think the Bluesea ones are 1ish amp per usb plugin

So call it 2.5 for the USB outlet and 5 for the 12v fridge outlet, I'd put a 10 or 15A and call it a day.

    My bad guys :anonymous:

I had a ton of issues with my switchpro 8100 randomly acting like the truck was off, then it'd come back on for a while, etc. Literally spent HOURS over a few months with their engineer, Robert, on the phone. Never could get a fix.

Apparently they didn't like that setup arrangement after dealing with me (I was nice )

Now I have a 9100 (out of pocket) and a separate power cable to the bus and the switchpro

Yep that’s correct! Also you’ll want to place the cable on top of the MRBF 100a fuse space that it’s protected

The switch on the below deck panel is already a 15 amp breaker so 15 amp fuse is perfect.
