He's just goofin' lol. But, the dealer is supposed to put a sticker under your hood somewhere to indicate that the ECU flash was done. Something about emissions requirements, but some have indicated that they have no sticker while others have..

    Nothing yet...
I had it done and notice a rather big difference in "punch it" response. MPG is the same for the most part... but my wife can even tell the diff when riding.

Could it be that they are cumulative and you need the 77-16 before the others?

77-16 is the T-SB reference number NOT the software calibration number.

You probably have the new software. Every new version supersedes any older calibration. Once a new ECU calibration is created the old version no longer is used. To know for sure, simply use an OBD II interface device to verify what calibration ID you currently have.

been running the 04b04 for awhile now. while it's definitely better than 04b03, i've noticed it isn't quite as good as it was day 1. i'm thinking part of it is the learning it does. just doesn't 'feel' the same and i know that's not something that is quantifiable.

i just installed 265/70/17's too and that hasn't helped and that's not even that tall of a tire. not sure how you guys tolerate anything taller without re-gearing.

oh and mpg's went from me averaging 23+ to barely 20+ on the same roads. part of that is the height change/heavier tire/greater load and part of it is the speedometer now being off by 1.5mph slow. So i'm traveling more per each tire rotation than the computer thinks i am.

Just dropped my truck off at the dealer for morning appointment. Brought a copy of the paperwork with me. I’ll let you know how it goes! Thanks for posting the TSB on here for others!

Dropped off the truck at the dealership this morning to get the software update done for the ECM.

I told them that my truck “lags and the transmission likes to hunt gears.” They test drove my truck and told me I was right. They updated the software 0058.

    These are my observations after the update;

    1. The “lag” is really not there anymore.
    2. The truck feels “quicker” must be because I don’t feel the lag anymore.
    3. The truck feels like it’s on ECT mode all the time. I haven’t driven with the ECT mode on after the update. That’s how happy I am with the update.
Normally I drive with ECT on all the time on the freeway but felt fine without it.

At the end, I’m happy with it and I’m glad my dealership didn’t give me a hard time about it.

    FYI, I own a 17 OR with kings 2.5 and 285 tires.

    In LA?
Which dealer if I may ask?
My go to is Keys since it's closest but have a feeling they'll give me a hard time trying to get the tsb done.

Toyota of Glendale. I brought two copies of the TSB with me also. 0058-0062. But they were already aware of the TSB.

Had the 0058-18 done on Friday.

Got back from the mountains today...Really not seeing a big difference. Around town the truck is fine, but climbing up the mountain on the highway I really have to punch the gas just to keep speed, and then it will downshift for 5-10 seconds, then upshift. Its just not a pleasant driving experience at all. My louder exhaust just exacerbates the problem to the point where it downshifts next to someone and I look like an asshole trying to pass. I only have 1500 miles on the truck so I am praying it works itself out...

Dealer wants me to approve a $150 diagnostic fee that will be covered if the TSB ends up being done...they won't commit to doing anything until they see the truck and test drive it to reproduce the issue. What do I say to this? My Taco VIN meets the TSB specs, but I don't want to find I am out of the $150.

Toyota in Alhambra California successfully did the update for me. Haven’t played with it much but definitely feel a difference
