    Well I wish I had a good update, but a year later and we are in a funk again. I am standing to fight for my wife again, right now I think we may be at the point of attending a crisis retreat counseling weekend thingy put on by a local church. My wife just cant seem to see any good in our marriage and I am starting to buy into the lies. A few months ago she was talking about another kid, and we went on a cruise in Feb, not she doesn't care again, at all.

    Last Friday was out 5 year anniversary and we found ourselves once again not celebrating. Last year it was spent picking up my daughter in a Wal-mart parking lot. Just once I want to celebrate my anniversary!

    I will fight to make next year that year!

    Pray for her heart, and my strength and discernment, so I can be of sound mind to fight for her.

    This is an amazing book. It didnt save my marriage but it certainly help - a ton.

    Went through a divorce last year (no kids and in IL made it easy). At one point I was tired of fighting for it and just gave in and to be honest it was the best thing I could do at that point.
    She turned crazy after 5 years of marriage for some reason. I'm the type of person that thinks everything happens for a reason and so did this and to be honest, I'm a lot happier now as well with a new partner that actually cares about the relationship.

    Keep hanging in there. I swear by this book, if you haven't already been introduced to it! It changed the way I focused on my relationship for the better. Highly suggest to check it out!

    It is a really interesting take on how each of us perceives the way we feel "loved" differently. Often times we put out to our significant other the way we would like to feel loved, and they don't understand. But once we start giving them love in their love language the relationship begins to blossom again!

    I have a fair amount of experience in this area...

    a GOOD counselor is critical. i'll take a good atheist counselor over a bad Christian counselor any day. of course, without the effort on both of your parts it won't matter. he is exactly correct... it's going to take a lot of effort and transparency to move forward - those are hard to come by. sounds like there's things going on that one or both of you aren't being completely honest about (when you say you're just not getting along) - until that gets into the open....
