you know i think i heard about this. glad i found this thread. prayers sent his way from a fellow volunteer.

and what fireturk said about CPR and first aid is also VERY important everyone. that "golden hour" where a regular person steps up after any trauma is the most important step to preventing death after an accident.

lets just say because of the proximity and the thinking of someone to set off the firetones he had cpr within 3 minutes of going down, chief was across the st eating dinner and i was right down the road cooking.

you never know who may need it or when you may use it

also push for your local govt to allow fire trucks to go to advanced life support calls! my county hasnt yet implimented it and has honestly stuggled to push it, but from time of dispatch the ambulance took almost 14 mins, the fire fighters were there within just a few minutes...just saying

looking back there is always something to learn and this is truely one of those cases, its given me a different view on things and to always remember what you say to someone truely can be your last words

Update on Lynn, He is still in the hospital at the moment undergoing physical therapy. Unfortunately chances are he will not be able to be on the fire department any longer and will more than likely require one of his kids to quit there job and take care of him or go to a nursing home

the docs say he suffers from delarium and the best they explain it is dementia with hope. because he is often living in the past and will get easily confused and forget things.

thanks for all of your prayers,

    Kevin

latest from the asst chief (his nephew)

Bobby checked uncle lyn out of the center for a few hours today and wouldn't you know that as soon as he walked in the yard the fire alarm rang. Uncle lyn hollard across the yard to me "is that a fire call"? I replied "No, they are hose testing today. Do you want to go?". He said "heck no". We all just laughed not knowing how he was gonna act. We haven't really discussed the fire dept. or his role in it since Oct 25.

We also went up to the fire department so that he could see some of the fire fighters volunteering. It was amazing, he knew everyone even the new members. It was a very good but short visit.

Bobby and I also took him to Lagrange to see his best friend James Woolard who has a terminal illness. That was an emotional rollercoaster for all of us.

Isn't God so amazing. I am so glad just to be able to spend one more day with him and I give God all the glory for it. Our God is such an awesome God
