I have less issues with mine with an aftermarket grill. What about running a bead of silicone around it?

I thought about it but thats another reason theyll deny to fix it if they see the silicone. Ive also read about less issues with the pro grill but im waiting til they offer that to me at a discounted price. Lol

I actually had the same issue last week. Im in the Inland Empire and it was raining a lot so I assumed it was that. Well once the rain stopped I kept getting the same error light so I brought it to the dealership. They said my PCS sensor was malfunctioning so they replaced it and recalibrated. Everything seems to be working just fine so far. 2018 4x4 OR DCSB

When it was raining super hard of the freeway it gave me that error, as soon as it let up it was fine

Hopefully not just til the next rainstorm like what happened to mine.

Got a call back from the dealership earlier and they claim they fixed it again. This time just cleaning and recalibration.

Not too worried right now since i still have 21 mos on warranty.

I had a stock grille and 150 miles on my new '18 when my sensor went bad. Same thing was happening and showing on the display. I took it to the dealership and they replaced and re-calibrated it. 3k miles later and no issues. I've even swapped out the stock grille for the TRD Pro one. I did buy the valence for it too. No issues.

My 2019 TRD Off-Road has 1,500 miles on it, I clean the truck about every week and a half. Today as I was just about home from work and the PCS system unavailable message kept coming on and going off repeatedly. What the hell?

Talking to my buddy that runs the Maintenance dept at a local dealership, I guess its a semi-common thing. Theyre a little too sensitive and the rain or heavy offroad throws them off a lot. I got mine replaced about a month and a half ago and haven't had a problem since.

My idiot light (Pre-collision Sensor) was illuminating EVERY trip after about 3-5 minutes of driving, regardless of weather. I suspect this was from moisture intrusion into the sensor body from both weather and automatic car washes. I could not clean this sensor well enough to stop the malfunction. Certainly annoying that I could set my cruise and then lose everything because of this. Unfortunately, cruise was not available at all during these malfunctions. Obviously, cruise and pre-collision are tied together and neither will work with a dirty or malfunctioning sensor.
I had my 5K service done yesterday at Parker Toyota here in CDA, and they replaced the sensor under warranty.

I posted a thread about this probably a month or so ago where this same thing happened to my 2018 OR. It happened after some heavy rains we received here in so cal. I took it to the dealer and they ended up having to replace it. We’ve had another bad storm system move in and so far no issues have happened with since.

Sounds like it will be a good money maker after warranty is up.

I got a 2018 Tacoma. 4400 miles. bought new. along with my PCS off light, I get the ABS and Slide indicator lights that come on. 1st time to dealer, they told me to keep the grille emblem clean. when I turn off the car, and restart, lights are gone. 2nd time, there was a dirty spot about 1" diameter. next 2 times, the emblem was clean. next time was clean and I brought to dealer. no error codes. they couldn't help me. next time, there were codes and they replaced the radar. 8 miles later, the lights are back on. turned the car off and restarted. I manually turned off the PCS and no lights. I turned it back on and within a few minutes, the lights came back on. Car is at dealership and they have contacted Toyota. waiting for a fix.

Just got a status update call from the service department at the dealer. He asked if I installed my LED headlight bulbs myself or if I had someone install them. He made it sound as if they were going to try and blame LED headlight bulbs. He said that the LED ballast sends out interference which might be the cause of the pre collision system malfunction and lane departure alert malfunction. Is this possible? Sounded a little crazy to me.

    Sounds like BS
I have HID headlights and fogs they didnt give me an excuse like that. Switch them out then so they dont have an excuse although id still be mad if they blame the issue on that

Can you substantiate this? Considering the outputs are different based on the locations of the sensors and the ride heights..
