I have the Pioneer p8400bh on the way and will be installing it myself, never done an install on an aftermarket HU but seems pretty easy. Just to be sure though I was wondering what else I might need to know before I dive in.

I have all the necessary harness' to go along with this HU. Here is the harness with the steering wheel control interface connected to it:

Can I get this into the truck and ready for the new HU? What will I need to do to make the day I get the HU that much easier/smoother for a first timer? Do I have the right stuff here?

    Thanks.

you will need splice the yellow, red, black and maybe an orange and blue wire. plug in the RCA's and the W/R (wired remote =steering wheel controls) wires, microphone wire and CD-201S if you have it and thats it.

Does the Bluetooth mic in my rear view mirror not work any longer? I will definitely have I hook up the mic that comes with it?

im not sure how it works for that mine did not have that in the first place but it should i imagine it is wired in with the JBL stuff. or it may be the same plug type for both stock and aftermarket head unit.

Thanks Charley for all your help. I ended up with the Scosche kit and it fit perfectly. Crutchfield sends the Metra kit with Tacoma orders.

I got the MicroBypass, which was extremely easy to install and it works perfectly, no switch.

As for the bluetooth mic, Factory one doesn't plug into this HU. I put the mic that came with the unit right on top of the steering column. Works for now.
