Hey guys, I can say i havent taken much time to search the difference between the two set-ups but im hoping some of you can post up some answers.

I have the chance to trade my current truck on an 07' Taco, full load, 5 speed, 2WD, 1 owner truck with 16,000 miles on it.

The thing is It sits about as low as a car. Normally i wouldnt even consider this truck, but knowing that toyota also offers this truck as a 2wd pre runner makes me ask: What do i have to do to make it sit as high as a Pre-runner or 4x4 Taco.

    LMK.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
if u want the prerunner stance, it'd be easier to just get a prerunner

huge differance with the design of the bump stops in the front and back, the springs are weaker in the regular suspension, with a prerunner spring being 8 rounds aprox. and the base about 5. Leaf springs are more stiff on a prerunner. ive tried the conversion, and its a lot of time invested for minimal results. one of these days ill get it done.

A little more to it than that. The rear suspension on the 5 luggers is a spring uder axel set up. 4x4's and Prerunners have a spring over axel. Springs are longer on the 4x4's and Prerunners also. For the front, the 5 luggers use shorter control arms, and smaller length shock/springs.
