Oh and that part about Canada selling off its gold since demand was so high for IAU yet the ETF hasn't appreciated. It's only fallen 5% which doesn't make your argument. If demand was so high I'd think the ETF would be up 5% right?

gold is being leveraged 542 to 1, but no body wants any and the US says it's only worth 1250 because it competes with the Petrol Dollar, convenient..
That would be like Honda setting the prices for Toyota........

So 1250 X 542 = 677,500 per oz..... It won't get that high but any idiot can see it's worth more than 1250.....
Let me know when any company runs out of shares...... I'll be over here holding my breath.....

FDIC Quarterly Banking Profile: Third Quarter 2015

FDIC-insured institutions reported aggregate net income of $40.4 billion in the third quarter of 2015, up $1.9 billion (5.1 percent) from a year earlier. The increase in earnings was mainly attributable to a $3.2 billion decline in noninterest expenses, as itemized litigation expenses at large banks were $2.7 billion lower than a year ago. Of the 6,270 insured institutions reporting third quarter financial results, more than half (58.9 percent) reported year-over-year growth in quarterly earnings. The proportion of banks that were unprofitable during the third quarter fell to 5 percent, down from 6.6 percent a year earlier and the lowest since the first quarter of 2005. See page 1.

    Community Bank Performance

Community banks—which represent 93 percent of insured institutions—reported net income of $5.2 billion in the third quarter, up $363.4 million (7.5 percent) from one year earlier. The increase was driven by higher net interest income and noninterest income, and lower provision expense. The 12-month growth rate in loan balances at community banks was 8.5 percent, almost twice the rate of noncommunity banks. Asset quality indicators continued to improve, and community banks accounted for 44 percent of small loans to businesses.

You are assuming that gold will be consumed like any other product, when gold is rarely consumed and mostly traded.

So you're saying the federal government can set the price of gold in all the open markets around the globe? And gold is in such high demand that it's been going down instead of up? Please tell me how the USA can set the price for a physical commodity that in no way threatens the value of the USD.

    US liabilites

    3.3T US liabilities
18 T US GDP not gov assets, total assets
    21.5 T liabilities
    278 T Divinities
    127 T unfunded liabilities

    -405.2 T negitive............ Current Revenue 3.3 T The only 3 ways to pay this off is to;
    1. Not pay, default on most or all....
    2. Steal the money needed to reduce the debt
    3. Print away the problem through inflation, print enough money to lower the value of the debt...
Probably a combination of all 3.
That's why we are talking about PMs not fiat currencies...
It's an inverse relationship fiat money goes down in value and PMs go up in value 100% of the time for over 6000 years...........
Fiat can be manipulated for a short period but over time it gets abused and looses value 100% of the time....
But everyone here knows this already...... That's why were here to learn about PMs......

Technically it would be the "federal" reserve colluding with the big banks.....(the Fed is a private bank not part of the GOV)
The US own no money it's owned by the "federal" reserve bank the US even borrows it's own money.
By allowing naked shorting up to 542 contracts for 1 oz of gold.........
and now the COMEX is almost out of gold....

We're not on the gold standard so none of this makes a difference against our currency, you might as well be talking about pork bellies. So what if COMEX is out of gold, naked shorting isn't exactly a new phenomenon.

Really 6,000 years? That's real funny, and for an entire decade gold was directly correlated to the dollar, how do you explain that?
