I think it's a great time to buy PMs....
    1. to diversify
    2. ins from inflation
    3. ins from the dollar
    4. ins from the debt
But even with out that just looking at supply and demand....
    1. at these prices we have reached peak silver and gold
    2. production is starting to decline
    3. silver stock piles are gone
    4. silver recycling is down
    5. most miners are out of money and starting to run up big debt
    6. so exploration had to be shut down
    7. new mines are on hold
    8. takes 10-20 years to get a new mine on line
    9. 20-30 years silver left in the earth at current use even less pladium
    10. getting harder and harder to mine
    11. total cost to mine silver is 70-80 oz sort term cost 20-35 per oz...

PMs look like the bottom is in and should start the next bull run...

I would buy coins, eagle and maples are the best and are not taxed in the USA......
Plus they have the best resale value and easiest to resell....
You pay a premium but get premium back we you sell them......
You could branch out to Perth mint or other well known mints....
I buy kookaburras when the premium is only a dollar or 2 and they will appreciate 50-100% in a year or 2....

Generic silver has less demand and less premium when you sell, so I'm not a fan but I do have some...
But now I stick to name brand, well known coins for easy resale...

This big debt mess will be sorted out in the next few years and help push PMs higher..
After that you will won't to convert back to the new dollar, stocks or real estate....

So I think keep buy the good 1 oz coins while the price is low and the market is still high... So get your PMs now while they are cheap...
Make PMs part of your plan not the whole plan....

Here we go again, this is now the 3rd Bank Bail In

I'm not doing this, broke GOV and corrupt banks are doing this, I'm just letting you guys know about it....
This is why you pass a law, for future use....... Dodd Frank..........

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-...r-creditors-first-bail-under-new-european-rul

    http://thedailycoin.org/austria-ord...-depositors-money-for-failed-bank/2016/04/10/

Funny how I was just raising awareness on the new Bail In policies and here we go again... When banks make bad investments we have to bail them out.... It's BS....

This is a bit of a myth. I know people who have no trouble selling a coin each month to supplement their income. There is always a market for gold.

There will always be a buyer for PMs..... Especially when the price goes up...
Physical is designed to be sold a few at a time but it's not hard to sell hundreds at a time...
We are not buying physical coins to trade the market but for protection and guaranteed insurance.....
Dealers don't care they make most of their money on margins and volume, not the PMs price...
    Hi or low they buy....
To get full retail, sell on ebay in smaller amounts, I buy all my 90% silver on ebay when the price is ok.....

But we won't be selling for a while yet.......

No myth at all here. How cumbersome is it to routinely sell off coins to pay your electricity bill monthly? Picking up meds from the pharmacy? Buying groceries each week? What about logistics? Can you sell a single coin at low to no cost aka transaction fee? No. Can you convert coins to cash as easily as going to an ATM? No. And these are examples for people who live in metropolitan areas. Living in the sticks only compound the problem.

So how much insurance do you really have when the price of gold hasn't even eclipsed the price of the 80's? You're telling me as an "investment" you'd still be breaking even for over 30 years??? Oh let's not forget the time value of money either so you've actually lost money. Same for anyone who's bought gold as recent as 5 years ago, they're still losing money. You buy PMs to trade or hedge period, not as a long term holding. And definitely no more than a 10% position.

Are you really trying to equate the leader in the global economy with, hold on, Austria????

Sure, all these chores are more difficult for the very old, which is why seniors frequently delegate these tasks to others.

If you prefer to turn over your money to a bank or institution because you want the convenience of automatic bill pay and have faith in fiat paper or digital currency, you should be able to do that. They will gladly take it from you.

    Good luck!

No luck needed here. Oddly enough I've been doing that for years, you know collecting large amounts of that funny fiat paper and digital currency from my employer and paying all my bills in the exact same fashion. Do you get paid in gold coins?????

There is simply too much to text here. Historically our dollar was backed by silver and gold. The government defaulted on its promise when Nixon closed the gold window. The dollar is backed now purely by faith. They have used that fact to debase the currency by about 95%, rack up huge debt, and destroy savers. We have been trained to follow blindly and cannot even begin to see the enormity of the crime that has been committed against the citizens and the world.

I would prefer a gold backed dollar; you seem to want otherwise. Can we agree to disagree?

We can agree to disagree. Fact remains , there isn't enough gold in the world to back the global economy so no preference here, just reality.

We can all bitch and moan or play the cards we've been dealt. I prefer to "not fight the tape".

I love the precious metals threads, but I simply cannot participate. Every time I do, I become political, and that is breaking the forum rules.

I value my time and friends on TacomaWorld, so I am going to stay out of the PM thread.

I'm sure it will all end well. Keep watching TV. Peace.

Hogwash. A gallon of gas is still worth a silver dime.

It's a pleasure to have you here, and to listen to your wisdom. Don't beat yourself over being "political, especially when your telling the truth". This thread was designed to discuss these things alongside the main topic, PMs.

Blo Plonys video back on page 21,stated the coming push forward for silver when it breaks it's 400 day moving avg @ $15.93oz. We are seeing it unfold before our eyes.

Those guys are just trolling to discourage any conversation....

    Just ignore them..........

This thread is about buying PMs and mostly physical PMs because of all the threats to our investments.....
