I actually look for 90% silver that is tarnished bad at a low price because tarnX will clean them in a few minutes and most of them will look like new when clean and a few will just look ok. Silver never goes bad.

My eagles and Maple coins I buy brand new in 20 oz tubes and leave them sealed because new coins are so cheap why by used unless I get a deal.
I like the sealed tubes and no nicks on the coins, I want maximum resale value.

I also try to buy lots of coins early in the year when the dies are brand new and the coins are nicer.

I have a question about the PM's. I notice there are two Kookuburra's on the website. Both are 1 oz. of silver. Why is there a price difference in the two coins? Both are same purity. Is there a premium being paid because of the design on the coin?

I'm new to PM buying and want to know what I'm looking at to know what is the better investment. The actual weight of the silver or the design that's on the coin. Seems if I'm investing for the PM then the lower cost id what I should be looking for rather than the design on the coin and paying more for the same weight on silver.

If they both are the same purity, buy the cheaper one. Don't pay attention to the design. What matters is the weight and purity.

That's what I was thinking. You're actually wanting the silver not the design. When purchasing them I want to get as close to the current price of silver as I can correct?

correct. You will also want to shop around as every dealer will have a different premium. So if Silver is selling at $17, a seller will have a premium over that, say $2-3. You will end up paying $19-20 after the premium.

I am a major stacker of silver. Let me know what you are intetested in. I probably have it. I'll beat any of your local dealers. Eagles, maples, phils, rounds, 90%, bars 1oz-100oz. I'll help you out on pricing.

One has a privy mark and a production of only 50.000 coins, so in a few years it will sell for more.
Look at the prices of older coins and compare the std coin to the privy marks and get the ones you think are best.

Privy mark coins are the cheapest now if you are going to get them and most years they sell out in a few months.
My last order I bought maples because they are the best value right now and privy mark kookaburras because they have the best resale value.

Kookaburras also come with a coin holder that is worth 1$. so sometimes you can get them for real close to the same price as an Eagle.
The 2015 kookaburras are 30 and 31 dollars.
The 2014 kookaburras are 34 and out of stock.
the 2013 kookaburras are 32 and 42 dollars.

Old Kookaburras have been ranging from 30-50 dollars so they are low right now.

I have different coins for different reasons and goals.

But if you just want good silver Maples seam to be the best value right now.
Generic silver is real cheap but they have worse resale value.

I also got a few of these coins because they are cheap and I like cars.
And they are really nice, resale may not be as good but I may get more for gifts and to get friends into PMs.

I was looking at the Gairsoppa coins that were minted from the silver recovered from the shipwreck. Just because that kind of thing interests me being a diver. Mainly was looking at the regular minted silver like the Kookaburra's, maple's and eagle's.

Yeah you can't go wrong with any of those coins.
Those are what I get most of the time.

I did get some Gairsoppa coins when the price came down. They are cool if you can find a good deal or a few just to have.

I've seen them go all over the place lately. Anywhere from $23 up to $68 for the same coin. I don't really care for the British 1/4 oz one's. I do like the 1 oz one from the Sunshine mint though. I did find a place that is selling the 1100 oz ingots.

You are correct. And as I stated in my quote that you quoted, pressure has been put on PM's.

Comex Option Expiry ends on Thursday, which will most likely push PM prices down as they try to getting call options to expire out of their money.

The rest of this week and next should be a nice window of buying oportunity.

January may have been the new bottom.
I still think physical silver is the best PM to buy. Gold is OK but there is a lot more gold available than silver and silver is used more in manufacturing and is not being used as money ( yet ). So the up side of silver is much better.

Again I just keep buying every month but held off to buy truck and car parts this summer and started up again in December when price fell.
I'm reaching the top of my stack so I'm just filling gaps in my stack, buying some different coins I like that are still a reasonable price and looking for bargains.
The Kookaburras still have the best resale value vs price of any coin so they are hard to beat. When the price comes back I'll start flipping my kookaburras when I can trade them 2 for 1 for eagles.

There is talk that Trump is here to reset the system but who knows. We'll see what happens with Dodd Frank this week...
I'm too the point that after this year I'll be forced to diversify more back into the system so hopefully something happens soon.
