From the movie W. the US stance on controlling the oil supply.

Now that Syria is slipping away it looks like we won't get Iran's oil.
    We may get Yemen's oil..
So the petrol dollar is in trouble, like I have been saying, we need to control Iran's oil to prop up the petrol dollar.
With out the oil the dollar will loose a lot of value to other nations and because of our past actions many nations will look to move away from the dollar and it will be harder to export inflation to other countries.

Funny how the most action in this section are PMs and Cryptos both anti gov..... anti dollar...
Because we all know somthing bad is going on...
I would treat cyrptos like investment and PMs as insurance.
Cryptos are digital and based on nothing and 100% trackable and at risk to the system.
PMs (for now ) are the only way to free your money.
Both are taxable anyway, but PMs protect you form digital theft.

Now the IRS is coming after Cryptos...

If they new tax plan goes through where they are going to cut corporate tax rates how much do you think the stock market will increase next year? I'd it will go up 19% next year.

Trump has most defiantly changed confidence in the market and a lot of money came back in..
I think for the market, follow bubble mentality and follow the trend.
PMs are great insurance but we all have money in stocks also..
So I say ride it out but be careful, we all know the market is inflated but if they are going to keep pumping it up take advantage of it...
They have to keep inflating the market up, but only certain stocks are going up, so play the dow or find those stocks...

It's just my 401k. Id rather just ride out the losses than try to time the market and miss out on those sweet gainz.

Smart. Many studies have been done that show that people who ride out everything and keep putting money in consistently do better than almost everyone that tries to time things.

    The war on cash continues
This show that the dollar is in serious trouble, because they are continuing to make it hard to convert out of the dollar..

S.1241 - Combating Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, and Counterfeiting Act of 2017115th Congress (2017-2018) | Get alerts

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-06-14/you-wont-believe-stupid-new-law-against-cash-and-bitcoin
Civil Asset Forfeiture rules allow the government to take whatever they want from you, without a trial or any due process.

This new bill adds a laundry list of offenses for which they can legally seize your assets… all of which pertain to money laundering and other financial crimes.

Here’s the thing, though: they’ve also vastly expanded on the definition of such ‘financial crimes’, including failure to fill out a form if you happen to be transporting more than $10,000 worth of ‘monetary instruments’.

Have too much cash? You’d better tell the government.

If not, they’re authorizing themselves in this bill to seize not just the money you didn’t report, but ALL of your assets and bank accounts.

OK, so I'm wanting to buy some PMs...
Help get me up to speed without having to read the entire thread.

How are the current prices, also compared to the last couple of years, good time to buy some now??

I want something I can hold in my hands.
Sounds like the Silver Eagle coins are a good choice.. I want something with the most value now and later for my buck.

Also I just recently took a look at APMEX, would that be one of the most trustworthy sources to buy from? If I can't find a local store that can meet my needs...

Open to hear suggestions etc.. Thanks

Prices are VERY good right now to buy. Stick with American Eagles (both silver and gold).

Yes APMEX is good, so is JM Bullion.

There has been a lot of fake metals being sold lately, so I would recommend sticking with a reputable dealer like APMEX or JMB. The stock you get from them is directly from the US Mint.

Definitely something wanna steer clear of.

Looks like the average price I'm seeing is around 18$ish for 1oz coin.. That about right? What had the price been?

    Thanks for the input...

Like crypto, PM's are volatile. Lately it has been fairly stable, about $16-$18 before premiums. Your premium per unit will decrease the more bulk you buy. A few years ago, it was about $22/oz.

Keep in mind, these are the suppressed prices, so stackers expect them to go up anywhere between 2-10 times current prices once the manipulation stops.

Yeah, prices are good right now, we just had a little dip... So this is about as cheap as it gets. Price bottomed 2 years ago.
At these levels don't worry about price just buy a set amount every month.
Eagles are a good coin to start with.
I order from APMEX, they are close and quick.
Or you can go to your local coin store.

No other asset you can get into for this cheap. Everyone should have some PMs.
Like the old days they would have silver for dining, paintings, gold, jewels, land ect to store wealth...

When the manipulation finally breaks PMs will jump and then should start to be a consistent hedge against inflation.

My low end projection is about 7-8 times current value. But could could very easy be much more than that.

Any thoughts on what this guy is saying? I can see the allure of having different coins other than just eagles..

Also what was the cheapest price silver has been in the last several years?

About 14.50 toward the end of 2015. I second the JM Bullion recommendation. It is hard to go wrong with eagles, more expensive up front but you get more for them when you sell. Nothing wrong with generic either but go with a well known brand. My favorite generic is from Sunshine Mint because they have low premiums and a built in security mark that verifies them as authentic both to you and anyone you may sell them to.

Haven't been here lately, but have still been following closely the price of silver...

The gov. is really trying to get people out of PMs.

Just the price today, at $15.77 has been a huge drop, from this past 6 months. Definitely something is coming in near future.

With the cost of mining the silver from the ground, and all the other manufacturing costs, im blown away with how it's down in the gutter...

Keep holding tight, and don't let them shake you from your physical possessions.

Even the silver dealers are saying no one is buying, they are actually selling, to get into the stock market since we have had such a wild ride as of late.... something is clearly amiss.

It is possible that everyone is selling to get into bitcoin. I still think bitcoin is bs, even though we could all be retired on it right now. Maybe I am wrong. Either way if people move a ton of wealth into it and it burns to the ground that would really be something.

Haha, ya that would be something.

I'd stay clear away from that bitcoin. I still think it's a feeler by governments to see if it really is viable, moving towards a cashless society.

No thank you. Real wealth is land, silver, gold, real skills, tangible assets, etc.

Yeah eagles are hard to beat, 2nd are maples, 3rd really cheap generic and last premium coins like a kookaburra to start out..
If your coin dealer has a used bin with generic coins, sometimes they are dirt cheap.
Eagles are the best to net out of when you resell them.
If you buy kookaburras at the beginning of the year, about a dollar more than an eagle, they come in a coin holder and in a few years they are worth $35 to $50..
But the silver shields seam to jump up in value also and he is a good guy that produces a lot of videos. So getting some of those could be a good idea.
I have a bunch of different silver...

Don't forget junk silver. If you find a good deal buy them, they are out of production and a lot have been melted down.

Don't buy any of those special coins these mints make, they resell the same as generic coins, or ck the price of old ones first to see if they go up..
