Which do you guys prefer? I bought a heat gun for the idea of it, now I'm staring at it in deliberation.

Well. There's a reason why that wouldn't happen with the 3rdgen. Not to mention the tailgate stamp.

I hate any sort of badging and I remove them as much as possible within reason (I stop usually at needing body work). I don't need to be told and see that the truck is a Tacoma 9 different times.

I'm not a trend follower and don't do something just because someone else does. But since you asked I'd remove all stickers/emblems, black out the badges, leave the stamped TACOMA alone. Get black wheels, tint windows dark and install an OF Pro grill or paint the original grill black. I might even not bother painting the badges and remove them.

Bottom line is if you like the clean look, then de-badge, if you like some chrome, leave it alone. Another option is to black out. There are SO many tacomas out there with every type, debadge, chrome or black. Wait awhile, look at other trucks and once you like one you see, do that. All personal preference.

I took the V6 badge off the tailgate and blacked out the Tacoma badges on the doors. I'd be real careful using a heat gun, I prefer fishing line or dental floss. I also added raised Tacoma letters on the tailgate.

Can't help but notice you both are in favor of debadging because you don't like the branding/labels/whatever....but you both went with TRD bro grilles that scream TOYOTA louder than stock. Curious what the logic is there?

Don't use a heat gun, hair dryer at low at most... or do it on a hot day.

Dental floss or fishing line as someone else said above.
